I've recorded this midi and played it back with mpowersynth and it causes the same long hung notes. Does it do it with yours (using reaper?)

I just loaded the midi file attached to the message above into the piano roll of FLStudio v. 9. Result with MPS: hung notes. But no hung notes with the MUX Modular VSTi. Evidently the problem is due to a bug in MPS's voice handling. (Also, it is interesting to me that the MIDI file used indeed has fast transitions between notes, which I've found contributory to MPS's hung notes.)

Ok folks, so I checked the MIDi file in both Reaper and FL Studio 11, no hang notes. Are you sure you are using MPS 8.09? I cannoo say anything about FL 9, it has always been a little messy, but with FL 11 it works.
jk, I'll ask again - please send me REAPER PROJECT!! Not MIDI ... there may be something in settings...

My results today were with 8.07. Has something in the voicing been changed for 8.09? Anyway, I should be able to download 8.09 tomorrow and test here. And with the same midi file in eXT!

I think this is what you call dll hell. I was using the 8.06 version and I should have been using the 8.09 version. Somehow I had the 8.06 version dll in a strange place and reaper was picking that up first. Now the mouse arpeggios don't cause hangs on quick notes. Operator update error or dll hell ...

Can I ask why the vst seems to redraw (as in, fills the screen again) itself after a preset change - I change a preset and it expands from it's repositioned place - the 64bit version with the scroll bars seems to expand to fit the screen. Annoying.

Aaaha, unlike basically all other synths, MPowerSynth has resizable GUI

. It lets you enlarge the view however you want and also it enlarges itself when needed to show things that wouldn't fit.
And in your case it's more like Reaper issue - the plugin simply lets Reaper know its size, but reaper changes ITS window! Though to be honest, scrolling through windows is rather extreme, never heard of anyone using it this way.
