Well, i found a workaround. It's possible to use Satin with Carla, everything works, so i was able to register my serial number. After being registered i can also use it in Ardour3, even if all the possibilities are not usable for the time being, it's still possible to do a lot of stuff. I registered Presswerk also. :)

Post

I was able to use Diva in Carla's built-in gui. Attempting to load the real Diva gui
leads to a blind date with Mr. Jenkins. :x :ud: :dog: :wink:

Hey there,
I just built Ardour3 from the latest GIT. But the Uhbik still does not show up.
VST path is correct.

Any suggestions?

Post

Sonnie, I suggest that you also ask in Ardour IRC, forum, mailing list, ... especially when using the git version ;-)
As the Uhbiks are working fine in Bitwig, it is likely a bug or a missing feature in Ardour (which can be fixed or enhanced).

Post

Well, I already tried it in the Bitwig-Demo. But maybe there external Plugins does not show up. But ok, I'll try it with Ardour IRC. Maybe rgareus is sill/already awake. :D

On an up-to-date ubuntu based setup, In the Carla vst scan, Zebra, (and the co-installs zebralette, zebrify zreverb), and the Uhbiks, display no ports, so don't load and work. But all the other U-he demos do. :? :?
So I think analyzing any underlying differences between those that work, and those that don't, will be fruitful.

Carla's built-in control sliders seem to work on the U-he plugins with detected ports,
Diva, Satin, Presswerk, Ace, Bazille, and Podolski, although the monster of the Ruhr, Bazille, has more parameters to provide for, than Carla currently allows :hihi:
Cheers

Another question, can these linux versions run, or easily be made to run as standalone versions?
In the way that the fst command uses wine to run windows .dll 'plugins' as standalones?
Cheers

Sorry, you need a VST host to use these plugins.

When using Carla, and attempting to use the u-he gui's, I get this type of error,
after the Carla crash, Podolski, in this case:

Starting REVISION 3193
main: Main Loop Circuit embeds PCore: Core
void AM_AudioMan::createModules()
Using vector extension SSE3
create viewMan 57037664
Before ViewMan->initialize()

NO INITIAL SCALE
Can't store UI Preferences
graphics Gamma 2
scanImages (/var/lib/jenkins/jobs/u-he/workspace/sources/AM_View/AM_Cairo_View.cpp:251) caught execption

TAL Noisemaker, obxd, vex, and other native linux vsts display correctly.

Cheers

Drat. I always miss the good posts! :wink:

I'm sorry but I have not the time and I don't want do debug every hosts. I mean the plugins works and it is very likely an host issue.
I know that carla is doing esoteric stuff like overriding syscalls, so maybe you should debug it with falktx directly.
