It's funny isn't it? The synth tagged as THE supersaw synth, and yet there was no example of that. All that came remotely close was a sound which you'd rather hear in some 90ies track. No offense, but someone should post a supersaw sound. Unless it's not wanted yet, because the sound will change drastically. Or unless the people posting sound clips aren't really in that type of sound, which i suspect.
yes i really like the sound so far but come one, i mean, where are those big hyper WOAH 2000 sounds? yeah it shall not be advertised as a Dubstep synth and i hate all those promos with the same shit everywhere but it should show some NASTY super saw cause i wanna compare with my beloved sylenth1 :P

so far it sounds like some native fl studio plugins :D (yeah i dont judge it from asap presets :P) but THE HIVE should also include a lot of super duper new fancy sounds to show its power°!

That's a bit of a target market specific issue imo.

A dedicated separate noise oscillator would be most useful.

Perhaps if the sub oscillators could double as noise oscillators
Could we get some clarification on this?

and here asmall fuckaround lol (with slight eq, comp + delay) (drums of course samples)!

The pluck/chord sound from 1:03 to 1:35, the pad sound after that, the supersaw after that. There's got to be someone specialized in that type of sounds. :P

Here's a straight-up buttery supersaw (both oscillators and suboscillators, 34 sawtooths in total!) with a modwheel filtersweep. Recorded in Normal, then Dirty, then Clean mode.

That's the case for me. It's not intentional to hide any aspect of the synth. I just use it how it inspires me. I used a fair amount of unison and detuned saw in the virus arp and 90s trance examples but I guess it didn't showcase what you were after.

And yeah, I'm old. The last kind of dance music I listened to at all was uplifting melodic trance about 20 years ago. That so far have been the kinds of sounds Hive has evoked for me.

Thanks ED, that's more like it. Could be a bit more "in your face" though tbh, it sounds a bit tame. I know, that also has to do with processing of course, but it's also the sound of the unison i think.

@ bmrzycki: I'm not a huge fan of nowadays EDM music either, it's just that i like the sounds, and the way of producing. You also hear those sounds a lot in chillout, or other genres.

Yeah I'm not really an EDM/trance dude, so this was just a couple minutes tweak starting from the init patch from me. :)

I don't think I'm good at those sequences, but here's a quick demo (one instance of Hive, no EQ)

Really nice, I always fall for good 303 stuff. :tu:

Was this made with the internal sequencer? May I borrow that line for my next track?

Yes, it was done with the seq. You can borrow it, no prob. I just think I got the upbeat wrong, or misplaced some accent somewhere. At some upbeats it sounds like a beta was skipped, when in fact it wasn't

Here is a small supersaw demonstration, which was made in 10 minutes. Please note, I'm not a professional sound designer, so my example is just a quick dirty sketch.
