Hi Forum

I would like to be able to record the audio changes I make when playing a synth in Tracktion. How do I do that :help:
So I end up with one track being midi info and another that recorded the audio when playing :)

Not quite sure what you mean:

are you trying to record in real time the output from a vsti?

IF so, there is no native way to do this. You have a couple of options available though. You can use something like virtual audio cable to make a new audio input in Tracktion which you can record from in real time. You would then just set that VSTi track to output to your virtual audio cable.

Alternatively there are a few vst plugins available that can record audio in real time. You could place one of these after the plugin, start it in record mode, and then begin playing live.

I'm not sure why you need to record the output of the plug in real time though? If you are controlling it by MIDI, and you are recording your MIDI as you play then you can just render the track once you have finished recording. This will give you both the MIDI and the audio, and take just a few seconds longer to do.

Hi Valley. What I mean is this: when I play a VST synth and change, lets say, the filter bank I hear it change. When I play back the midi track I don't :?

Hope I explained the problem

You probably want to turn on "record automation" (it's called something along those lines anyway), which is one of the buttons to the left of the play and record buttons. The other toggles automation on during playback.

Um, i'm not at my music computer though, so that's from memory, but have a play with those ...
