It was Zebra indeed. The patch emulating jp8k that I included to a weird soundset available in "Zebra Anniversary" topic (don't remember exact subject) and AFAIK in patchlib. There are mono version that is relatively close to supersaw, stereo version (like in demo) which not so close but still quite good and some silly patches.jsp1979 wrote:Will this so-called Zebra be released before Christmas!!!???!!![]()

So this is Zebra? Funny thing is that when I heard it I thought "wow, Hive does gorgeous supersaw, much better than Zerba".Urs wrote:Hmmm, according to the file name I'd say it's Zebra, not Hive and trance_lucent posted it to demonstrate how the download works.hyperconnectedspace wrote:wtf sounds Hive sharp! looking forward!trance_lucent wrote:Surely does. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/570 ... stereo.mp3GeorgeZ wrote:Dropbox doesn't allow hotlinking (play from link).
Well, another reason to better learn the tools I already have instead of drooling at new shiny things.

I've already posted the supersaw in this thread: http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... 3#p5968463chk071 wrote:I also thought it was Hive. I was like "Hey, finally someone posted a supersaw".

Ah, i must have missed it, thanks. Hm, could be just me, but it sounds a bit muffled. Like, the filter could open more. Not exactly liking the filter sweep either, there's something resonant about it (yes, i know, very scientific statement
). I don't know if there was much processing going on in trance_lucent's sound example, but it sounds much better to my ears. Brighter, fatter, more direct.

BTW, to polemize with phantom-one and his https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/335 ... persaw.mp3:
this is the same Zebra patch as above (dry/unprocessed):
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/570 ... reo_aw.mp3
I like the phasing in phantom-one's demo, is it some chorus added, or it is dry supersaw?
Edit: sorry, demo was wrong (with additional eq). Reuploaded (truly dry now).
Edit2: ok, here is previous eqed version (eq1 added to master section of zebra): https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/570 ... _aw_eq.mp3
and all the patches from 8k family, here are two equed patches that were absent in soundset, I usually use them for improvising): https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/570 ... bra8k_.zip

We'll most certainly do a public beta of some sort before christmas. If worse comes to worse it'll be an alpha with one or two features missing.hyperconnectedspace wrote:still hope Hive will come before christmas or just before it.

It is a supersaw with sine suboscillator for boosting lower frequencies and a small amount of white noise.trance_lucent wrote:I like the phasing in phantom-one's demo, is it some chorus added, or it is dry supersaw?

It probably adds too much bottom end, and that's probably why i found the filter sound somehow "resonant". If you compare it to trance_lucent's example, it has much body, which isn't so pleasing IMO.phantom-one wrote:It is a supersaw with sine suboscillator for boosting lower frequencies and a small amount of white noise.trance_lucent wrote:I like the phasing in phantom-one's demo, is it some chorus added, or it is dry supersaw?

Agreed (on the first part). I think there's room for humor everywhere, even in a room full of suits.Infinite5ths wrote:My kind of humor...don't leave! Then they'll all glare at meGeorgeZ wrote:Well, this thread is just a hive of excitement. Ye ye, I'll show myself out![]()
Edit- agreed on don't leave, although maybe we should glare at I-5's.
