Congrats on the wonderful design and i cant wait for the open beta testing to begin.
i am wondering when you would use only one OSC, is the 2nd turned off, when the volume is set to zero? in SY1 you set the voice number to zero and the OSC is off and uses no CPU. Dunno how HIVE would handle that? It should be easy peasy for the users?

By the way, will this synth have more detailed control of ocs phase start? or just only random or gate?

You can set phase start in the Mod Matrix also...dioxine wrote:By the way, will this synth have more detailed control of ocs phase start? or just only random or gate?

At the moment they always use a bit of CPU. I intend to improve that for when their volume is set to 0.easypeasy wrote:Congrats on the wonderful design and i cant wait for the open beta testing to begin.

Thing is, at 8x unison, Hive's oscs use half the CPU of Sylenth1. At 1x unison they use twice as much as Sylenth1. That's because each oscillator always renders in batches of 4. But once everything is at its final design, we can add an extra mode that renders 1x unison as a single oscillator.

No use for passion if you're hospitalized with burn outchk071 wrote:But where is the passion in that?paterpeter wrote:I appreciate your effort, but remember that in the end, you work to live, not the other way around, so take careUrs wrote:Working feverishly on it. No worries. I'd be depressed if we can't post a public version.paterpeter wrote:No use for passion if you're hospitalized with burn out

its always a hard run before christmas to get out a new public beta of something! hmm like people pointed it out, if you cant make it - it is all good, dont push yourself to the burn!Urs wrote:No worries. ohh here is a little play in my head:
i rethought the suggesting tehlord made about having Noise in the Sub OSCs,
well for basic supersaws you would need 2OSC with saw-wave, one sub maybe and the other sub could play the role of a noise generator and add some hiss for widening of the Sound like Aiyn pointed out a few posts back.
(the sub is optional here of course, sometimes not even needed!)
i like to have 2OSCs one detuned hard with bigger Width and the 2nd detuned lower, but creating the core of the sound, so all 2 OSCs are used for the Supersaw and nothing left for the Hiss option.
that way the subs could be Noise gens too at the same time. (maybe add some basic noises too it?)
not sure of if the logic will allow the idea, we had here?
Can you see my point?
Happy 3rd Advent!

Well, but the thing is pretty much there. Why stop so close before the finish line?Caine123 wrote:dont push yourself too hard, what shall we do with great plugins and no Urs?Urs wrote:No worries. Just need to fix a crash bug today, sort out some oddities with the detune laws, think about tuning the Steiner-Parker filter and figure out what to have my employees do in the remaining days.

P.S.: I'll be on the Weihnachtsmarkt tonight and probably get smashed with Glühwein
