Any chance someone could point me to a setup tutorial for Nora running in Reaper? I'm a relative newbie. Thanks!
Hi.
You know already how to set up and play a virtual instrument (VSTi) in Reaper ?
Then it's easy, just stick Nora in front of your VSTi so the MIDI goes through Nora first before reaching the VSTi.

If not, check this video.

Here's another video with a slightly more advanced setup. (using a separate track for the MIDI which sends to Nora).

Thank you, yellukhan. I've tried it and have a question. What's the advantage of using the DistributoR-track? You can actually skip it when you filter the Midi in the respective Nora-channels #1-8 (s. picture, example for track#3). Just asking. :)

Yess! Thank you for your help dsan. Having a little trouble getting my licence key for Nora so I've been playing with BlueARP in Reaper in the meantime. A lot of fun.
Half frog, half man, but which half is which?

Thank you all for your help folks. I didn't see the new page of your posts until just now. I'm delighted at all the goodies and tuts. BlueARP is great and I imagine Nora will be a whole other level. This stuff kinds reminds me of my long, happy years with the Atari 1040ST and CLab's Creator sequencer. What a fast machine that was.

Thank you very much for the template yellukhan

Hi,
DistributoR track useful if you familiar with multitrack midi editing in Reaper...
for example when i don't want / need to record output to individual tracks
i use DistributoR track for record Nora's output at once in one multitrack midi item.
also in Reaper we have Action : "Apply Track/Take Fx to item (output midi)" ..and plus: "Take Crop Active Take"...
if you place your chord progression to Nora's track ( instead of "chords to Nora" track)
you can use this actions and get final / sequenced result instantly without recording,
then just moving this midi to the DistribitoR track will save you from a little headache :)

i hope i explained well

here is the video demonstration starts at 56 sec.

Have Fun.

edit.
one thing that i forgot in this template :
if you planning to record outputs at once via DistributoR track...
DistributoR track also must set to Record Output / Record Output (MIDI) mode...
in the right click menu of RecArm button.

Thanks yellukhan. Info much appreciated and I'll add this to my tutorials folder.
I finally have a fully registered NORA, with some help from Squaredheads.

A note to Squaredheads.

I don't want to begin my recent joining of KVR/Squaredheads by whining but I need to say this:

Squaredheads, your YouTube and other videos, particularly your tutorials, are awful and very unprofessional. There's no narration about what is happening and the lightning-fast jumping cursor is guaranteed to kill creativity and spirit of learning. For heaven's sake slow down! And plug in a microphone dammit.

I know you can speak English :)

The problem is, we're C++ coders not web/video designers or promoters. If we weren't spend a single minute in such things, maybe today we would have avaliable Nora 4 :P

And unfortunately my spoken english is really bad. I want to talk in these videos, because it's easier and faster to make them, but the only language I can talk is in spanish. Anyway I just met a girl that may narrate the next ones. Or, maybe some of you could do it too.

I wonder what Dan Worrell charges? He did all the Fabfilter videos (among other things). Could possibly be a huge boost in sales too.

i answered in the video comments already
..
-i am not a designer of Nora,
-i have "zero" skill to speak English,
-my videos nothing more than the "user having fun" type

but you have right about racing cursor!

Thanks for watching and the comments

btw. i glad you find track template useful
