Very different, and far more superior imo. Way more modulation possibilities, granular engine sounds better and smoother, up to 8 granulators, etc.
Is this referring to KTgranulator?
No I think he was referring to Robert Henke' Granulator instrument, for Max For Live. Well, I think…

Post

Yep, I was referring to Henke's. That one is goodfor glitchy stuff so I was wondering if there is one better for melodic stuff.

Just bought this. It's still a bit buggy but it sounds GOOD. Does anyone know how to disable the mapping and just let it play notes across the entire range of a keyboard?

this is also my main gripe and not having a good timestretch option?

timestretch option? i've been putting old classic rave stabs into the mangle and stretching those short stabs into long playable notes, it works amazingly well.

I can't test it ATM, but it should work if you set the range of the separate slots to entire keyboard range.

i didnt find it either to load in a sample and play on the whole keyboard range with it.

First thing I did was creating a preset with only one layer active and spanning the whole keyboard. :-)
That's what I always start with:

To load a sample, just drag and drop it to the waveform window or use the upper right folder icon. The range settings are under "midi & macro""Key Map"., I guess...but I'm not sure (not on my PC ATM).

If you play sample at very different pitch (other than root note), it naturally gets scretched or compressed. I think that's what emef meant.

yeah ok, but afaik it isnt really timestretching, sample playback 100% and then it should be adjustable.

Of course Mangle DOES timestrectching, it’s pure granular synthesis so it’s obviously doing it. You have to modulate the position parameter with a lfo, simple as that
