Hey all, I am new to bitwig and I have a problem with the audio. Can someone please aid me with the configuration of the settings in the preferences tab so that I will be able to hear something through my headphones. Thanks in advance. And BTW I'm using windows xp.

You may be experiencing a problem because you have loaded BWS onto a non supported system. Actually, I'm not even sure how you were able to get it to install
The minimum requirements for PC is Windows 7.
I suggest fix this problem first before continuing and giving your self a lot of grief. BWS just will not work on XP; many have tried. I know of no one successful.
Sorry to be a bearer of bad news to you.

Hey dsan, I meant I have windows 8 not xp. Sorry for the confusion. I've tried playing around with the audio settings but still nothing is coming out through the headphones.

Whenever I try activating the audio engine an error message keeps popping up. It states: 'PortAudio Pa_Openstream failed. Error; invalid device'. What could be the issue?

Can you get audio without the headphones? I would first try to make sure audio functions and then plug the phones into the audio device. What audio device are you using? Do you have studio monitors? If so, do you need to flip a switch between the cans and speakers?
If there is a problem with your set-up, try this thread. Hopefully there is something in it that will help solve the problem you have.

If not, then I highly recommend sending them a bug report.
It is very unlikely you will get your answer by posting in this forum. I suggest heading over to the Bitwig wig forum.
