Maybe provide two theme versions? One with a decent bright border so one can distinguish the windows easily and work fast and fluidly. And anotherone (that is maybe even active by default) that just looks good, to attract future customers. We who work with this thing would like to have the ergonomic version with borders, may or may not it be "ugly" :-)

As you claimed about the bad standardization of TUN file format a few posts above:

Don't know whether you know about it, but you can find the specifications of the TUN file format V1.00 and V2.00 including example source code here:

http://www.mark-henning.de/am_downloads_eng.php#Tuning

V1.00 is a rather basic and easily done implementation but fits most needs. For more ambitious implementations, V2.00 might be the best choice, as it supports multiple tunings per file which can be assigned to different MIDI channels.

Well, the implementation now works just fine, I actually don't know which version it was, anyway it's really not high priority, so it shall stay like that. I was talking about the manual and the format itself, it's just really riddiculous...no existing source code can change that :)

I can't find a post, but I am sure I read someone reporting here that the GUI was resizing itself when he changed the preset. I just noticed my MPS is doing that, too. Not always, but sometimes. Everything fits in the window but it still expands it. Sometimes it's the opposite, I switch presets and I open the global tab, and the envelope is drawn much smaller than the area would permit.
Has that been solved?

Post

It will resize itself to make it fit, that's just how it is. But it shouldn't resize down, if so, please make a screenshot and save the preset.

The thing is, I have a GUI size where everything fits, but it nevertheless enlarges the GUI on preset change. And it does that only sometimes. So sometimes I have my preferred GUI size and browse through presets and everything fits, and sometimes I browse through the exact same presets and it enlarges the GUI. So it can't be related to something not fitting in, because sometimes it works without resizing.

Post

Hmmm, I'd probably need some examples...presets and stuff... impossible to simulate like this.

OK I think I have something reproducible.

I have a saved project where the GUI is pretty large.

If I open the project, open the GUI, FIRST resize it a bit down, THEN change the preset, then it will be enlarged back to the size it had before. When I make it smaller once more and change preset once more, no resizing occurs. So it only happens one time.

If I open the project, open the GUI, now FIRST change preset and THEN size it down, then I can change to the next preset and no resizing occurs.

To sum it up, it seems that after opening the GUI for the first time you have to change preset once to have the GUI size at that moment "initialized" somehow. BTW only pusing the arrow keys to change presets, I didn't check whether opening the preset browser makes a difference.

Does that make sense?

Damn you Vojtech! I couldn't resist the sale :x
It will be beans for Christmas dinner.

But my, my, what a BEAST of a synthesizer! I'm completely overwhelmed, but picking my way through the various screens is throwing-up many interesting possibilities.

I have a couple of questions/requests. Apologies in advance if these points have been addressed before.

1. What is the purpose of splitting the custom ADSRs into Attack and Release sections? Would it be more efficient to allow the full envelope to be drawn in the panel? It just feels like a lot of work.

2. Would a dedicated pitch envelope - either global or per osc - be considered?
I know I can do this in the modulators, but again it's quite some effort for a core operation (IMO).
Also, the results are difficult to predict. For example, I'm trying to make a basic kick using a pitch-dropped sine wave, and there is a noticeable 'steppiness' as the pitch changes via the modulators.

Apart form these niggles, loving the sounds so far. Solid work as always!

Thank you!

Ok, so:

1. In most cases you'll use the classic ADSR parameters. For custom mode well, it is like this :). I agree that having one shape instead of 2 would probably be a better choice, but well, too late :).

2. Sorry, but probably not (already denied 2x :) ). The thing is, pitch envelope is more or less only for FX and drums, and this has never been intended as drum generator! I was really surprised when I saw so many drum presets :). There will probably be a dedicated drum synth extracted from MDrummer where it is already, and these things are available there of course ;).

But what do I know...

OK, fair enough - I understand where you're coming from. The mods are flexible enough to achieve what I want. However +1 to:

Hehe ok, I'll think about it again :D.

Small request: Modulator and Automation Protection should be renamed to Modulator and Automation Resolution. I think that's just what it is and it's more understandable to people :-) Possibly name it Time Resolution so people know it determines only the x-axis resolution (time), not y-axis (values). It directly controls how fast an envelope or controller move the synth can accurately reproduce, and the term resolution seems more descriptive than protection. My 2 cents :-)
