It's been over two and a half years since Apple introduced their first Mac retina display in a MacBook Pro. Just recently, they introduced the retina 5K iMac and other non Apple manufacturers are starting to embrace hi-resolution displays, which make your OS and supported apps look super crisp.

Standard resolution displays are going the way of the dinosaur and it's sad in 2014 to see new plug-ins released without HiDPI UI graphics.

That's where U-he come in. It's wonderful to see Urs and the U-he guys being one of the first audio plug-in developers to optimize their GUIs for retina/hidpi displays.

So, thank you Urs and the team for thinking of us retina users.

A quick recap and a todo list for Urs ;)

Hive = Full retina. Glorious/badass on my retina MacBook Pro and 5K iMac.
Bazille = Full retina. Looks amazing. Super sharp.
Diva = Partial retina. Everything is retina apart from the knobs. Possibly an oversight. Please fix.
Presswerk = Partial retina. Everything is retina apart from the knobs. Again, possibly an oversight. Please fix.

Non-retina = Zebra, Satin, ACE, MFM2, Filterscape and Uhbik

Since Zebra is my favorite soft synth on the planet, I'm eagerly awaiting Zebra 3 - which will hopefully (fingers crossed) have hidpi support.

Thanks again for being the best audio plug-in developers on the planet.

I maintain a list of Retina / HDPI plugins here:

Are the first four vectorized or auto detect and the latter five bitmaps?

Excellent. I'll help keep the list updated. Urs stuff is mostly bitmapped - but rendered to be HiDPI.
