Yeah... I assumed cause Zebra can't that Hive couldn't... big plus!Vectorman wrote:That was one of the first things I checked for when I opened it up...whether it could do the recursive envelope mod trick (which I think I first heard of in Howard's Virus programming guide). And, unlike Sylenth, it does.pdxindy wrote: Ha! I didn't realize you could modulate the Env by itself. Zebra doesn't do this in the Mod Matrix so I just assumed the same here... Forget my nagging about a slope control! This is just fine!!

any video to learn more about it or how to program?

i meant a video about modulate the Env by itself in details. nice vid though

Target Env1 Decay (or Attack or Release)
Mod Depth will change the Decay Slope... You will also have to adjust the Env Decay along with the Mod Depth because Mod Depth also changes the Decay time.
You can change each stage individually and create some very different envelope shapes.

I made some patches, here's a sample of one of them:

Just purchased it. I hope there is going to be exponential or curved envelopes for the filters/amps! Got to say. Its sounds pretty nice just toying around with it. LOVE THE SIMPLICITY! The dirty mode sounds nice!

It appears from the interface that sub osc Pulse waveforms want to be modulated for pulse width. However I couldn't figure out how, from the knobs (none present??) or mod matrix. Is it "pending"? Edit again: I found it! D'oh!
When filter in bypass mode the volume knob still affects volume. And filter keytrack - no negative values allowed. I don't know, maybe these are working as intended.
Edit: one more thing: you mentioned more work is being done on the interface, so maybe you are working on a system to indicate on the control knobs when it is a modulation target? Sometimes that might be quicker to see than scanning through the mod matrix pages (since there are 2 pages). Just a thought.
I really like having a dedicated vibrato LFO, with delay too, yay! And it's pretty neat that you can route from Filter 1 -> Filter 2. Easy to miss.

So maybe we can somehow add the .tun file support in there too.~Pd~ wrote:Will this eventually get support for .tun files? Or am I the only one who wants to make quarter-tone trance and 17-TET EDM?

+1 here as well for .tun support. 1 thing i mis the most atm, is a dedicated PWM knob for all wave types. It just makes things a lot easier and faster even. The rest is just awesome.Adrian B wrote:+1Urs wrote:We can discuss it. There's no reason not to, but we simply thought we'd start out with the most minimal feature set. Hi,
Since there are few 'official' presets yet, and I made one that I like, I decided to upload it here for the readers.
It's nothing special, just a simple no-thrills pad sound. (*) If you don't like it, just discard it ...
(*) Although in the highest octave it reminisces one of the intro sound of JMJ Equinox
I know Hive is targeted as a 'genre' synth, but I have absolutely nothing with that genre (supersaws? meh! & I loathe 'hoovers
But I do want to buy this synth, so I wanted to see if also more 'normal' sounds could be made with it and I think I succeeded.
(I have nothing with the 'cloud' and 'dropbox' etc. so I upload it with this post. Don't know if it works.)
Enjoy! (or not
Happy Holidays!!,
Z.

I'm with you on wanting PWM-able user waveforms, if that somehow fits into the u-he vision of what Hive should and shouldn't be that is.mutantdog wrote:I've mentioned this a few times in the previous thread but some sort of user-editable waveform would be so cool here. I'm thinking about the ones in Oatmeal (which gets it spot-on in my book) but i guess something along the lines of the tap-map in Bazille would work too. Combined with PWM this will be a source of many interesting sounds.
