I loaded MOscillator for the first time today.

And was greeted by a unexpected blast of tone. Please turn down the initial output level to avoid any future surprises.

I tried reducing the level and pitch and saving that as the Default, but that did not do it. I had to load that preset then save the current settings as defaults to get them to take effect.

Sorry, but no. Besides backward compatibility issues this seems rather odd. It's at -6dB and it's a signal generator, so I really don't know what did you expect :o
Defaults can be save by Settings / Set current settings as default.

To be at a lower level - on loading it was quite a bit louder than the project I had been working on and I was not expecting it.

Yes, I've saved the changed settings as the default. By the way - where are those default settings saved? In the preset named "Default"? Or elsewhere?

Hehe got it :). Anyway it's stored in some local settings, don't worry about it ;).

So you got it working?

I once saved default settings for a Melda Plug in the plugin itself and in Cubase as well, and those override the Melda internal defaults because they are loaded afterwards.

Yes, I used the plug-ins own "Save settings as default", no need to use any host DAW feature. :)
