Sorry if this has been covered but, did you consider knobs instead of drop menus for Unison / Octave / Semitone? I find drop down menus slowing me down when making new sounds. Also, I too would like to see more waveforms in the future
and matrix targets (like arp clock multiply). HIVE is already very hands-on synth and it sounds great! I don't think adding more features will take anything away of it's simplistic approach. I think I like the idea having good, fast-to-program, allaround synth better than just EDM- or supersaw-synth.... which hive obviously is not. Looking forward to the release version. Great Job!

We're thinking about way to make preferences for knob usage and drop downs. Might take some time.
More waveforms will certainly come, but we need to be careful with Matrix targets. Some are prone to make for a glitch-fest

Ever used mousewheel on dropdowns? Works as fast as knobs.muLperi wrote:Sorry if this has been covered but, did you consider knobs instead of drop menus for Unison / Octave / Semitone? I find drop down menus slowing me down when making new sounds.

sorry if i crash the party... but could we please forget about this absolutely obsolete hive/sylenth/spire/whateverthehecksynth comparison for let's say the next 50-100 posts? really getting tired of this... if you want the sylenth sound - go buy SYLENTH! if you want the sylenth sound in a 64bit au host - go buy SYLENTH and a WRAPPER! if you want spire then just go and buy it, for gods sake!
i would really appreciate it if we would focus on hive as the great subtractive synth as it is, to make sure there are no major bugs in the final version, and to come up with cool and/or useful and/or necessary features, which just improve the overall synth, and not just because a certain all-time-favorite-plugin does have them, too...
for the record, i see that there is some obvious reason to make a comparison between all those plugins when a new comes out. however, it think this has been totally worn out meanwhile.
so, enough for the bashing - happy new year to y'all

Hmm, as a matter of fact I want a Sylenth-like synth, but with a decent price tag, regular (and substantial) updates, a beautiful, fully zoomable GUI, a comfortable preset browser, the choice of using skins (without hacking the .dll), a developer who's considering his customers' opinions.Sim.Sky wrote:sorry if i crash the party... but could we please forget about this absolutely obsolete hive/sylenth/spire/whateverthehecksynth comparison for let's say the next 50-100 posts? really getting tired of this... if you want the sylenth sound - go buy SYLENTH! if you want the sylenth sound in a 64bit au host - go buy SYLENTH and a WRAPPER! if you want spire then just go and buy it, for gods sake!![]()
Where the heck would I find that? Oh wait...

It depends on what you consider "Sylenth-like" i guess. Soundwise i don't find Hive to be too Sylenth like. There's another synth which i consider much more like it. But Hive is surely a great synth on his own. I agree that it would have been quite lame and disapointing, if Hive had been sounding like Sylenth. It's another cup of tea, that's why i don't get how it should replace Sylenth either. It surely won't, as it takes a bit more than just creating a synth with a similar feature set. Sylenth seems to be like the standard in EDM music, while u-he synths seem like the standard of analog emus.2ZrgE wrote: Hmm, as a matter of fact I want a Sylenth-like synth

They all do. We might need to make it more comfortable to edit, but they all do.carrieres wrote:it seem that u-he synth does not support Program Change, any hope for Hive to get it ?

The obsession with super-saws and comparisons to Sylenth etc... is obnoxious. In it's current state Hive is a terrific all-round synth that's incredibly easy to navigate and program. I would like to see more modulations sources and more matrix slots, but generally speaking it's a brilliant and really practical synth.

The only system I found great for surfing, but not for performance, is the one used by Fabfilter. It just assigns bank and number to all presets with one click.Urs wrote:They all do. Loading a presets can also be done via MIDI, using Bank Select and Program Change messages. Click Options > Enable MIDI Program Changes in the preset menu to enable or disable this feature. When enabled, the corresponding bank/program numbers are shown in front of the preset name (for example: (2/65) My Preset). This means that you can load that preset by first sending a Bank Select message to select bank 2 and then sending a Program Change message to select program 65.
