The whole point with Buzz was that it was never commercial. Until the fruity wrapper and xs-1 that is.Anyone with half a (commercial) brain could have jumped on the boat and made a penny. Instead they choose to accuse us of everything bad in the world... and missed the boat.
This is a bad comparison since VST is an "open" format and Buzz is a "closed" format which was never intended to be used outside of buzz. A better comparison would be another host supporting your FL plugins format or Reasons "plugin" format. All this because they were suddenly usable in FL. I mean, can you imagine someone getting pissed because a new sequencer comes up and making his VST's format the HD of anyone running his VST's under that new sequencer?
What you seemed to have missed is that the wrapper breaks the actual SDK license agreement. Machine devs were not angry cause their "secret buzz" was being used in another host. They were angry cause they were certain the agreement would protect the machines from ever being sold commercially.

And still 'money' was the only thing they were/are talking about ...Majken wrote:The whole point with Buzz was that it was never commercial.
At least we admit that we like (no love) money.
It not only pays for the goodies we like but it also builds us a solid base ensuring our users that FL will still be there for years to come AND it will contain tons of free goodies we (try to) license from 'starving' developers.
So Oskari broke ... his own license ?Majken wrote:The wrapper breaks the actual SDK license agreement.
See ya,

After reading through this thread, I think I know why Mike Oldfield looks so tired.
Poor Mike Oldfield. :sigh:

we never sold the buzz adapters, and seriously do you think it makes a damn difference for users? Like 'mmh I'm gonna buy FL.. oh wait it doesn't have a buzz machine adapter, that's it I'm gonna buy something else'..They were angry cause they were certain the agreement would protect the machines from ever being sold commercially.
It caused more shit in customer support because we had to explain why the first half of the machines don't work, why the second half crash, or why the whole lot doesn't work because some obscure C++ DLL is missing.

All these people going misty eyed over Buzz is simply strange. Buzz doesn't do anything that isn't done in VST. Buzz is dead.gol wrote:we never sold the buzz adapters, and seriously do you think it makes a damn difference for users? Mike Oldfield - Let's hope he turns up in the FL forums for a chat
