In this video, I show you that Presswerk is reporting the wrong delay for compensation when copying an instance of it and pasting it over a previous instance while HQ is selected. It doesn't happen when HQ isn't selected from my testings, but this could also be wrong because the initial bug doesn't happen every time. So basically, if I copy Presswerk over another instance (hold down option and click on presswerk and drag it), it changes the delay compensation from 17 samples to 21. I figure this has to be a bug because I'm copying the same settings that the original had and the original only reports 17. This incorrect delay causes phasing to occur in any instruments that have been multi-miced or copied for parallel processing.

I ran into a few other bugs too and I'll try to recreate them on video, but its more difficult as those bugs are more random. I think I had a bug where there was phasing going on internally between the left and right side, but that one might've just been me going crazy as I tweaked it late into the night.

By no means does my bug reports affect how I feel about this thing. I actually enjoy this thing enough to help get the bugs out! I can't stress enough how GREAT of a compressor this thing is. I love using it out to sculpt a drum transient or put it on a drum buss to bring out the sustain in the hits. In fact, I've just been playing with it for hours to understand all of it as much as possible. Very great tool.

For some reason KVR isn't letting me post the link until I have 5 posts on KVR.

So here's my 5th post :)

OK, just dl'ed the video for quick inspection. But as this is our first day back in the office (happy new year, btw :D), I'll have to drill down to the project tomorrow.
At first sight, 17 samples look right, but +4 is a bit strange. Does that all change if you engage and disengage the plugin in the track or toggle play/stop?

Off the top of my head, from what I remneber:

Pausing and playing didn't resolve tbe issue
BYPASSING and un-bypassing didn't fix it
But I think deactivating/activating it fixed the incorrect latency issue. So that's a workaround.

Afaik, this currently the way AAX handles this. But I'll talk to Urs tomorrow, perhaps he knows of a better way.

Right on. Yeah, de-activating the plugin should force it to recalculate the latency. That's normal. But yeah, the +4 samples of compensation when copying over is definitely weird. After de-activating and reactivating, it recalculates at 17 samples.

Any word on this? I think I checked a few other U-He plugs in this exact same setup and I could not recreate it with them. So it's only happening on Presswerk to my knowledge. Some developers I've beta tested for will use a base code for the start of each plugin, like a template, and if the bug is in the code of the template, it'll be an issue in all plugs. There's one company in specific that this happened to with a few bugs, they were across all of his plugins cause it was in the template. That's what I was trying to check, but I think it's Presswerk specific and nothing else.
