Hive preview (April 1 update)

So for those of you who really want to go off the deep end translating patches, here is the spreadsheet I've made which can help translate envelope times from one synth to another. Instructions are in the comments and I've filled out most of the values for the synths I have, but I'll work more on filling it out over the next few days. Basically you set the synths you want to port a patch to and from, enter the ADR settings from the "from" synth and it spits out what the settings should be on the synth you're porting to. You can also dial in settings to sync to a beat, or specify an ADR time in miliseconds.
I've only modeled the Normal Hive envelope for now; I have to run som errands but I'll take care of Dirty and Clean later today.
There's also a tab for filter cutoff and LFO rate syncing which I'll document when I get back. For now, enjoy!

That's pretty cool! Is this for excel?

Yeah it is. Not sure if it'll work in other spreadsheet apps -- the lookup table should work anywhere but I'm not sure about the (undocumented) thingy for actually estimating the parameters.

Can anyone copy the Massive preset Binary Dreams? Great sounding sci-fi pad.

Unlikely. Massive is a very different synth - twice the number of envelopes and lfos, >10* the number of waveforms, ringmod, FM, different effects...martingifford wrote:Can anyone copy the Massive preset Binary Dreams? Great sounding sci-fi pad.

The attached isn't a clone of that Massive preset - let's call it "inspired by"

I last visited this page just when the preview/beta was released, my how it's grown!
I managed about the first 15 pages, and then a few of the recent ones.
I know a lot of aspects are potentially up for change and I just wanted to say that I personal find the colour scheme a little difficult to work with. I think the design and layout is brilliant, but the blue on dark grey/black has me squinting a little, and takes some of the fun and usability away from it. My 2 pence.
