Many of you have asked “how much will I pay for Tracktion v2”? At this time, we are not prepared to release any specifics on Tracktion v2 pricing. However, we will reward licensed v1.x users by offering a special upgrade path to v2. This special upgrade will equate to a total Tracktion investment that is lower than the online sale price of Tracktion v2. This is our way of thanking you for your ongoing support and for your valuable feedback.
Do you know of any software where the upgrade to the next version is equal to the full price of that version?? :?: . It's quite evident that the upgrade is just an additional fraction of the full retail price.

really misleading salestalk where nothing really is said
I think what Beno is trying to say is:
(cost of Tracktion 1) + (cost of Traction 2 upgrade) < (cost of Traction 2)

In other words, T1 users will get T2 cheaper IN TOTAL than those who didn't buy T1 first. This is quite good news, but I still hope we're talking about a $25-$50 upgrade and not a $100-$200 upgrade.

Yes, I understanded it that way, ... I still think it's evident.
I also think that tracktion will certainly more then double its current price. so the upgrade will be surely more then 50$.
Thats the reason why this is posted, because the price will go up a few levels.

tracktion will be 199$. the one with the most close guess is getting a free update 8)

i hopes its not 100 dollar or more. dont beta testers get a discount on the official release anyway

i hope it's not going to cost much too, that would go against the idea of it after all...

however T1 has made my life great! T2 will too! right?! 8)
Kick, punch, it's all in the mind.

Well, no but I do understand your point. I also hope the program doesn't stray too far from it's streamlined approach and friendly price tag.

I'll play along in the guessing game too. I vote msrp 149.00, online 129.00 upgrade from T1 40.00. Very competitive and completely justified.

If the upgrade is more than 50.00, I'll have to think twice. As it is, I'm already taxing my old hardware. If the system requirements are increased to require panther, I'm out until I get a new machine and that's not likely to be soon.

That's basically my guess too.

If it's true, and the upgrade does turn out to be 40USD then all in all, Tracktion will be the biggest steal I every bought outside of Fruity V2.x.

Ditto and ditto. Tracktion is nice but it's got too many "quirks" to play in the $200 range as far as I'm concerned. If Jules hired another programmer or two (especially if one was a Mac specialist) then I might consider $200 MSRP justified.
