It's actually pretty good at SysEx handling, although there is a limit to the size of SysEx messages (I think about 1Mb, if memory serves), which is a side effect of it all being real-time and lock-free. Other than sample dumps, I don't think you'll hit this SysEx size limitation.

oh nice! one more reason to learn Lua.. Been meaning to tool around in Renoise with it.

Excited about TPFKA-Epoch :P

Also would be cool to see v2 of Aspect.

It seems the VST 2.4 spec has a 'detune' parameter for a MIDI event +/- 63 cents, although it's not supported in some (many) VSTs - notable NI. It's the way Cubase 7+ etc. handles the Hermode tuning.

(Okay, so I just wanted to bump the thread and tease more information out... It's almost February.... ish...)

Thanks for the info. I'll add it to my notes, but I'll put in the file marked "things to look at after release", rather than "things to look at before release", ok!?
Architect, the modular MIDI toolkit, beta now available for macOS, Windows, and Linux.

Phew you had me worried there ...no more talk of micro tuning please till after the birth please! :)

well, I want macro tuning, anyway.
what about a huge steering control, leather seats, wooden interior and a compressor engine, ending in quadruple tail pipes??

I had all fingers crossed for it to be soon, but since someone wisely suggested that a "shrubbery" was needed, I really cannot see how it will be released before such a feature has been added - whatever it is and however long it takes to implement!

Oh well...

1 month shy of 5 years, it really has to be the greatest plugin ever made at this point lol well either that or the biggest waste of developer time ever, i dont even dare to think what sequent could have been with this much development time !!
Duh

I'm pretty sure it will be one of the greatest VST's ever!

In a world filled with VST Synths, EQ's, Comps, Delays, and Reverbs...ect...there are virtually no modular customizable step sequencing plugs unless your on a Mac. For us PC users this will be revolutionary when it arrives.

Any more news Colin? ;D

Still working on UI bits, albeit not just for this, bit for all Loomer plug-ins. There have been some UI tweaks to the plug-in framework that I've sat on for a while, ones that in this day of high-DPI and retina displays are really a necessity. Hopefully, an update for Shift later this week (or early the next) will reveal the changes.

Every product has and will continue to benefit from the changes and technology that have been put into this. Just one example, and there are many: I developed a lock-free event system for dealing with real-time parameter changes and interface synchronisation, which has already found its way back into Sequent.

What exactly is this? Can you explain in more detail please? Sounds interesting.

Also, one thing I have been utilizing in Ableton Live is the Looper plug in. What it can do is set the overall song's BPM by the loop's start and end points (well at face value that's how it seems to be doing it though there could be more to it under the hood).

Basically how it works is I trigger record (via MIDI), play for "x" amount of bars, click record again to immediately go directly into playmode (like any standard looper does) and along with the playback of the loop, the BPM of the overall song gets set.

Is there some way to change the BPM of the overall song on the fly in !Epoch? It's really great for realtime performance and it's the one main feature that's making me still utilize Ableton Live since no other DAW or plug-in that I am aware of can do this. At least not in the way Live allows it (realtime/on the fly via MIDI and/or keystroke control).
Ask not what your DAW can do for you, but what you can do with your DAW

A slight exaggeration....3, not 5!
