Psychoanalyst: Penis envy!
Evolutionary Psychologist: Genetic remniscent of competition for best mates
Critical ( Marxist) psychologist: Alienating competitive mentality of capitalist society
Cognitive Psychologist: Cognitive dissonance and distortions: I own X but everyone say Y is better! (therefore they must be wrong)
Neuropsychologist: Brain has to choose which stimuli to process to and which to ignore based on subcortical value-systems.
Humanistic-existentialistic psychologist: What do YOU think?
Social psychologist: Adaption and imitation: we need to know which one will make us in-crowd.
Narrative Psychologist: Why do you need to make a sad story about X vs Y arguments when you are free to make a happy story?
Common sense psychologist: People who start as well as participate in such arguments are either trolls or attention whores who haven't got anything better to do (with their lives)

Someone asked WHY this lead to the XvsY situation...Frantz wrote:In the year 12,447 BCE, caveman Grogg said to caveman Yarg, "My club is better than your club." And so began the gear comparison discussions....
Politicians began to tax ownership of clubs. Thus one had to justify ownership of such a device. See things all went to hell when some idiot invented the concept of monetizing... every single aspect of our lives...
