I just noticed that when I have multiple instances of the same preset in various tracks the parameters that are being modulated by a LFO in Random mode have the same value at the same time, as if the "Random" was actually a sequence running the exact same way for any instance of the synth.
Is this the case?
If yes, is there a way to have actual random? I am thinking of what a "random and glide" module sampling white noise usually does.

Have a good day!
Hi Tana,

that's actually correct - it is random, but it is tight to the song, so that the output is indeed the same every time you run the song, but the sequence is random. What you need to do is slightly change the speed parameter, that's all ;).

So I bought MPowerSynth in the sale (thanks again! :)) and got to use it for short periods over the break.

I am primarily a programmer. It's not a pick-up and program synth - it takes a lot of digging around to get anyway comfortable. This is not a complaint (I like the challenge), but I am curious as to who the intended market might be. The randomizers and the Arp are very good, I must say, and are a real draw, but I am finding some niggles, though I try not to, because I have the TotalBundle + MDrummer and I am a registered fanboi of your work.

I reviewed this thread and have seen it requested and denied already, but I will try again: Please allow us to use the filters in parallel! Could this be achieved with a 'mix' slider on each Osc?
If the Oscs/filters could be seperately routed to FX lanes it would be even better.

If I remember correctly, your response was that parallel filters have a limited musical potential. As a blofeld owner I beg to differ! :) Parallel filters are the business!

Also, I'll echo the call for a polyphonic modulator option.

PS I love you, don't hate me.

:D :D I love you too!

Ok, so: I'll add the parallel filters to the to-do list again, for investigation. But osc output to FX lanes are denied (for a reason you'll see in the future :D ) and poly mods are not possible I'm afraid, technical reasons.

You are THE man. I did see mention of the 'secret' new project. I'm sure it will be great. 8)

I'd be extremely happy to see parallel filters on MPowerSynth sometime in the future.
Thanks for re-considering!

Is there any way to use key follow/note number as controller/source for multiparameters? Its really needed in some cases (FM depth, noise level... and it could actually solve one request I made earlier: fixed ratio osc detune).
And possible bug report: seems to me that midi program change isn't working correctly (OS X 10.9.5/Live 9.1.6) on first note gets cutted out and then sound comes back with second one.

Otherwise, been comparing this to other synths and digging deeper into programming, what a magnificent instrument :hyper:

Thank you!

You can attach multiparameters to any MIDI controller including note number in MIDI settings ;). It's global, not per-voice though.
About program change - I don't follow, could you be more specific?

Well, I mostly use Ableton in session view and if first clip has program change message for sound 1 and the next for 2, while going from 1 to 2 sound cuts out really fast after first note been played and keeps on playing ok from second note. If first note is not on the first beat but like 1/16 late everything is ok ...but it's not really practical solution ...with arpeggiators I'd say

Aaah, well i'm afraid it's like that. The presets are extremely complex and take time to load, so if you need program changes, then you just need to give it time to load the settings.

Hmm, gotta rethink my workflow :?

Hehe yeah, I'm afraid instant changes with such an complicated instrument are just not possible. You can simply use multiple instances of MPowerSynth ;).

...I already do, MPS has replaced most other the synths. Just trying to minimize the track count.

Understand. Though the synth takes almost no CPU when there are no notes playing, so it should be fine.

Well too many tracks can fry "my CPU". Been mixing some Pro Tools sessions with close to 200 tracks and that's just insane. Now working on my own music and still in composing mode and working with many different song ideas simultaneously in same session cause that's best in Ableton. To minimize tracks is like one is for basslines, other for leads...

Well 200 tracks is really insane indeed :D. Anyway it's fine to use program change, but you cannot expect it to load them instantly.

Roger that.
