Sure... After months working on a new version, and when things (according to people who knows that hads-on) were coming in such a good way, it makes sense to shut-down and go to South-America

In my opinion it smells of the sort of takeover i would expect from a company like Apple. If the apparently reliable quote from the Props forum is be trusted then Ben had been in talks with Apple previously. Perhaps an agreement was made.

Thinking about it, Logic's bundled instruments are a bit long in the tooth. Alchemy 2 would make a spectacular addition and might be enough to persuade some more Windows users to switch over. In fact, Alchemy as it is could probably be split up into a few separate instruments, all of a high standard. CamelPhat's four distortion knobs would be an improvement over Logic's existing modules. I'm pretty sure the filter's were licensed from Antti so i don't know whether they'd carry over.

On the other hand, perhaps Apple are thinking to start adding extra plugins available as paid upgrades, again Alchemy 2 would make for a damn good flagship here. Not to mention the groundwork built on the iOS version making for more interaction potential.

Its doubtful we'll ever see a Windows version, if Apple are the buyers, not unless one of the sound designers were to leak the beta somehow.

Personally, i'm hoping Spectrasonics announce Alchesphere at the upcoming NAMM, but i wouldn't put money on it.

Alchemy 2...

So what is a good alternative
purchase other than Alchemy 1
and Serum.
I can recommend Codex, if you can buy it cheap used, very nice sounds.

if there was a buyout, why did they hire people to design sounds for alchemy 2 then?

Business as usual until the contracts are signed. Would be unprofessional to cease development before any buyout is definite.

I'm still inclined to read between the lines when Luftrum says he knows nothing (or does he) but isn't worried anymore.

There seem to be some vile words already being spoken about a situation no one actually knows anything about!

Which brings me back to my original point...

>>And after reading 52 pages of all kind of speculation, I find it a bit harsh not to give any official reason behind such a business move.

Its becoming painfully obvious that they aren't able or permitted to do so... ie. a gagging order has been put in place.

This can be in place for several reasons ranging from an amicable takeover, a C&D order through to be sued for patent infringement.

Maybe it`s something other as Apple or others bought CA, maybe they merging with another company? Or bought another company by themselfs and merging now? :scared:

Well...when you put it that way....and no one seemed to take my KVR-bought-Camel for the page views theory.

So....it's time to pull out Occam's rusty razor.

Camel Audio was abducted by aliens! :o

Crazy? Sure. But...consider these questions carefully:

Why would an advanced race from another galaxy visit earth and abduct a leading VST synth vendor based in Scotland, then delete KVR posts?

Why would the richest company in the world build a self-aggrandizing space dock on earth in the disguise of corporate HQ?

Why would advanced aliens from another galaxy be monitoring KVR supersaw threads?

Why would ZenPuppy go silent on the same day that NASA celebrated the anniversary of their first Mars mission?

Why does someone with the initials D.G. work for NASA and post on yahoo?

Why would this happen now, just before NAMM rather than during?

If we ask enough wrong questions, will we arrive at the right questions?

Why is it on KVR there's seems to be so many, but never quite enough wrong questions?

If Dirk Gently posted on KVR, would we have the answers?

Hang on i am freaking out about this.. are you seriously sure about Reason? I shed tears over him and was really cut up. Sorry to go OT but i have to know if this is true.
Sure enough:

I didn't cry, but it really, really got to me... as did his resurrection as Booby DeKONstruktion (Bobby Destruktion, actually).

I was trying to think of something on-topic to put here other than "Camel Audio sucks" again, but couldn't come up with anything.

That's the real strange part, not sure why they would do that. If they had their way, maybe they would delete our posts here too.

This thread is wonderful. A vast resource for psychological, sociological and psychiatric research.
Now I know how easy is to induce wild states of mind in hundreds of people and how quick such process becomes self-sustaining.

A lot of noise and overdrive on all tracks and wild feedback without any limiting ;)
