Specially the "patch" page, very ahrd to work on that:

There are several synths that could suit your needs but, Absynth may be the mother of them all when it comes to those mentioned styles.Kalamata Kid wrote:My style is Ambient, New age, space, free form, experimental

A huge +1 there.liv wrote:There are several synths that could suit your needs but, Absynth may be the mother of them all when it comes to those mentioned styles.Kalamata Kid wrote:My style is Ambient, New age, space, free form, experimental

You are the only one who could answer but, if you find yourself not being able to create your own patches I think theres enough 3:d party presets to last for a lifetime.Kalamata Kid wrote:Liv,liv wrote:There are several synths that could suit your needs but, Absynth may be the mother of them all when it comes to those mentioned styles.Kalamata Kid wrote:My style is Ambient, New age, space, free form, experimental

I am glad you responded.
For one you and a few others with similar views have saved me time by me not investing more time to find something to beat Absynth. You saved me a LOT of time.
I am well informed about some segments of the digital music creation and complete ignoramus on other aspects. My knowledge of Absynth is very limited. Please bear with me.
If I remember correctly I have never bought third party samples or content or presets for Absynth or any other VST, VSTi or DAW. This is all new to me.
To get the most out off and to create more original sounds in Absynth I could or should import my own samples. Or is it better to get third party content as I will get not only get new samples but also new presets made by an expert in these matters.
It's worth checking out Galbanum's Architecture Waveforms for Absynth...25,000 new single-cycle waves for both Oscillators and LFOs on sale for $20 right now.liv wrote: Whether to use samples or not, theres plenty of possibilities using simple waves and wavetables. I have released three sound sets (see sign) that use no samples at all and am finalizing a fourth The Abyss (also only wavetables).
If you want to use samples in Absynth (as many do) then theres even more infinite universes to explore.
I suspect since NI did not include not one V6 (Kontakt, Reaktor, Absynth) in the Komplete 10 that they are up to something very Big.hibidy wrote:Sorry man, but I wouldn't hold my breath. it's been YEARS since 5 was released. I would have thought komplete 10 cycle would have been something significant if there was going to be it. I'm not exactly sure what NI is up to (recent history is....strange) but I seriously doubt that it's worth hanging your hat on the next big update.
Trust me, I'd love to be wrong.

I am new to the Kore 2 stuff. Are you saying the Kore 2 and Absynth 5 are not compatible? I ask as I just a few minutes ago was checking out Kore2.jancivil wrote:Absynth was I think the first virtual instrument I bought. I took to it very readily. I had a little knowledge going in and I had kept up with my reading in between, well a lot of DX7 programming and the time when I could have my own computer.
I don't use it very much today and when I do it's something I built in it YEARS ago. Fortunately I was quite prolific at that time.
When 5 came out they basically borked 4 for Kore 2, and it's been a nightmare since. I have 5 now and it's a disappointment. I mean, I like this morph button quite a lot, that's about it for me. I guess that's kind of worth it. But I have all this trauma from NI breaking shit and it begins here for me. I had to go back to an earlier version to use it in Kore. It's f**ked up. A4 still tricky because Kore was trained to hate it.
So, what would they do, copy some other engine's tricks? Mehville. I think it kind of has reached its apex.
