i wish they'd give specific info on what software is included, as don't care for SONiVOX nor Prime Loops.

if this includes a few of the AIR synths i might be sold at that price point though
Includes a 16GB download with more than 10,000 sounds from leading virtual instruments from AIR Music Technology (Vacuum Pro, Transfuser, Velvet, Hybrid 3, Xpand!2) SONiVOX (Eighty Eight Ensemble), ToolRoom Records and Prime Loops.

What about knob resolution? Standard CC (0-127) or 10 bit / 14 bit?

If I buy the Akai, can I sell the Air to someone that wants it? (Since I don't).

Each company is different, but Sbangs has said it can be sold as long as it isn't activated (much like Korg). It would be nice if these weren't packaged with it in the first place though.

This could actually be a very nice synth for live use as you could change patches without looking at a laptop screen....

Do you mean that you can actually browse through all the internal presets of any VSTi for example? :o
If that's the case I wonder how this is possible as a lot of instruments have their own/internal presets management (often not recognized by DAWs etc.)?

it really depends how they are haptic-wise. I'm sure the knobs are very good, but not sure about the keys and pads...
the Price is high
the Display is very sexy.

Indeed some plugins are not very cooperative and for these, there is a manual step involved to transfer their presets into VIP. However, Akai already did that step for a enormous amount of 3rd-party plugins, so that in most cases your presets are available, nicely tagged, right after it scans your plugins.

Does it support only one plugin at a time, or does it support "Kore-Style" combination/presets? What about fx?

"key zone splitting, layering of up to 8 instruments per VIP instance"

It's soooo Zen :hihi: :hihi:

If it's something like Zen 2.0 - then I think the software is MUCH better then Automap. Congrats!

After I was disappointed with NI keyboards - this looks really promising.

What caused the disappointment, just out of interest?

I already have all Air instruments. And I am sure nobody will take it in to consideration and give us any kind of credit or discount...
