Yes, 128. My bad. The bank select thing could be more tricky since you can have an unlimited number of setlists.

Maybe have a way to have them linked to one of 16384 Bank Select numbers automatically? Say you have a folder with all the setlists, sorted alphabetically. Your software then auto-assigns Bank Selects to each file in order...
I doubt anyone would actually reach 16384 setlists though - but it's a neat possibility to have!

Great to know that it is the Zen backend, this makes it even more interesting!
Since you have an insight into product maybe you could be so kind to answer some questions:
- Can the plugins be different for each setlist item?
- Will the software run without the Akai controller? Will it be also available separately?
- What are the possibilities in MIDI mode? Can the display programmed in any way?
Many thanks.

It is Zen with 2+ years of development from Akai added in, so expect it to be much, much better.moss wrote:Great to know that it is the Zen backend, this makes it even more interesting!
I'm happy to answer your questions, just be clear that this is by no means an official Akai statement.
Absolutely. Setlist items can also be 'multis', which are combination patches made of (up to 8 ) plugins layers/splitsCan the plugins be different for each setlist item?
I don't know if this will change, but as of today it is not locked to the controller. Will the software run without the Akai controller?
This I don't know. Will it be also available separately?
You mean, without VIP ? I haven't used it much that way, but it does everything you'd expect from a controller - assignable channels, cc#, ... and it has a cool arpeggiator. What are the possibilities in MIDI mode?
Not sure what you mean ?Can the display programmed in any way?

Thanks!Big Tick wrote:I'm happy to answer your questions, just be clear that this is by no means an official Akai statement.
E.g. with the Push or the Novation Remotes controlles you can send SysEx commands to them to write to the display.Big Tick wrote:Not sure what you mean ?Can the display programmed in any way?

I doubt the protocol for interfacing with the display will ever be public.
