T3 - EZ Drummer 2, Help!

I am having trouble recording tracks with EZ Drummer 2 in Tracktion 3. Successfully, I have created an EZ Drummer filter. I can play along with the drums using my Midi keyboard, but as soon as i try and record the drums are nowhere to be found! I have resorted to using a muted guitar as an input, to trick Tracktion into record the dead air with my drum filter. I'm fairly sure I'm missing something simple, yet the Manuals and FAQs haven't been much help. There has to be a better way!
