And perhaps he did negotiate, but the silence terms were one that he couldn't.Spip wrote:Agreed that we all have a price. Maybe just not the same one...Mushy Mushy wrote: You would have done the exact same thing for the $10m that's being touted as the sale price.

Oh I'm sorry, this was an assumption because he was based in Scotland.whyterabbyt wrote:When did a Scotsman take over Camel Audio?Mushy Mushy wrote:Lets be realistic shall we, how much negotiation could a little old Scotsman have against Apple and their legal department.Ben H wrote:IF they were bought out... then these are THE TERMS of the buyout that THEY AGREED TO.

I take it I was wrong here. I stand corrected.

Well apparently you and I have different principles then.Mushy Mushy wrote:Bullshit.Ben H wrote:Plenty.Mushy Mushy wrote:Lets be realistic shall we, how much negotiation could a little old Scotsman have against Apple and their legal department.Ben H wrote:IF they were bought out... then these are THE TERMS of the buyout that THEY AGREED TO.

They didn't have to sell... and they didn't have to agree to the terms set out by the buyers.
Apparently they were re-approached, so they were obviously in a good bargaining position.
Had it been me... I would've taken the option NOT TO PISS ON all my (ex) customers.
You would have done the exact same thing for the $10m that's being touted as the sale price.
Besides, I really doubt said buyer would walk away from the deal if Ben had insisted that keeping quiet was non-negotiable.

Enjoy your laughter. If this is how you get laughs, then enjoy the sound of a lonely smug laugh. While it lasts.samsam wrote:What makes me laugh most about these threads is the indignation of the preset salesman who've made money off of the synth. Same in Sylenth threads. Thank God I don't need to do business with these guys.
Your inner rage against 'the man' has deafened you to some exquisite sounds. That's your loss.

Savour the bitterness - if that's what keeps you a happy and productive member of KVR.

That's precisely my point though, we don't know.Ben H wrote:Besides, I really doubt said buyer would walk away from the deal if Ben had insisted that keeping quiet was non-negotiable.
And until we know, I don't think we should be calling his business practices "shabby".
