Wow! I think you and Daven from Amaranth should start an "Envelope Pusher's" group here on KVR! It's really nice to see some novel thinking that isn't tied to conventional hardware paradigms.
Thanks for the extended intro pricing and the verbose manual, although to be honest it hits a pretty steep quasi-vertical learning curve at "Main Page Parmeters & GUI Details"! It feels like that section could have been broken down into several. "As simple as possible, but no simpler".. sure... I get the feeling Manual technology needs to evolve as much as the software does.
BTW, I tried importing a 8-bit/Channel RGB, 1024x1024 PNG but it failed. Could be a Mac/PC thing (I'm testing on W7-64). Or is this a demo limitation?

Andrew
Thanks for the great exposition on how KS and Metasynth relate...helped me grasp more of what KS can do. Now if I can only get the demo to work...
EDIT. With help from Denis all works fine now

Except for the wet/dry slider none of the parameters can currently be automated dynamically, so it's not a bug but a current limitation.Hez wrote:
Once the issues with parameter automation and real time knob tweaking are ironed out (assuming they're going to be - if that's an inherent limitation of the technology then I guess I'll have to rethink the way I approach it), this'll be an instant buy. Can't wait for the midi import.

In this video I use KS on some ambient cello texture, changing the octave range in KS on the fly:

And finishing this KS night session with an experimental jam using only the white noise source in KS as input source:

Hey Andrew.
I own all the 2CAudio reverbs and I really like them, as well as Architecture Waveforms. This plugin looks really interesting, and if the demo worked well I'd probably buy it. But it's really not performing for me in Ableton Live 9 64-bit on OS X. I have a 2010 Mac Pro, 3.33 GHz 6-Core, and can generally push my DAW pretty hard with a quite a few CPU-hungry plug-ins, like u-he DIVA, without much problem.
I only have a simple drum loop and KS, and set my buffer size to 2048 in both Live and KS. I've tried experimenting with various multithreading settings and buffer settings. Lots of crackles and pops. Seems like other Live users are having similar problems.
It's just not going to be usable until the performance is optimized or some DAW-specific bugs are fixed. I'll check back later to see if there's a new version that corrects these problems.

CPU use wasn't an issue for me in live, it's just choppy/glitchy. Not at all like simons. I still think though that this isn't going to be my cup of tea as I see no way to control this.

is pretty much smacking my CPU around but it sounds really nice and i've only put drum patterns through it. massive!
and disintegrates things into fuzzy noise and the sounds of woodwind instruments resonating.
very tempting. when's the next sale?
