How about a whole RACK of them? :D

I think Mackie are ruthless, and will be unwilling to give a $5 rebate. Therefore, I predict that they will come to the fair conclusion that the suggested -upgrade- of $5 will get them profit without losing them customers. ;)

That failing, I'll take my stripper pole in classic brass, thanks.

I'll just take T2, thanks. I'll provide the pole for girls to slide on :D.

It does? :o In which case I congratulate you on your ongoing good fortune. 8)

Personally I'd rather my pole came in something akin to rubber. Not for the kink factor you understand; it's just in case my wife tires of trying to seduce me with it and decides rather to use it as a weapon. Getting my attention can at times be difficult, and I'm sure a convenient club would at times seem to be a suitable cattle prod.

I'm confused, why are the strippers going to be Polish? Is Poland offering a deal on strippers or something? And what are the girlfriends, fiances, and wives going to do with them? Are they going to be male strippers then? If so I don't know if I'll be upgrading...

I think this is a great time for ANYONE waiting to buy Tracktion to do so! No matter what, you won't pay more than the full price of T2. What a deal! If you wait to buy, you will have to pay more most likely.

This is good news, even if some people are just turning this into something negative. I have faith in Jules and Mackie and their vision. I don't understand how anyone here can complain about paying too much when Tracktion has NEVER had a chance to be upgraded before and nobody here has ever been screwed by the price of the upgrade. Everyone just seems to assume that Mackie are going to go for the highest price possible.

Give Jules and Mackie a chance. Let's see what they do. If it turns out to be unfair, then you can start to complain. Until then, have some patience.

I'm excited about T2. It's changed my music by giving me more freedom. Thanks again Jules! Cheers!

I guess people are trying to prevent being screwed. :D

Personally, I have a blank check ready for T2.

Shazbot wrote: I see this with just about every software update for other programs, where people expect something extra because they just bought vX shortly before vX+1 came out. What's the difference?? What about the people who bought v1 months prior? If anything, they would deserve more of a break. But regardless of when you bought v1, now you have it, like everyone else who has had it for months, and will ultimately still get a deal for v2 by virtue of having already had v1 before v2 came out.
Here's another view, then:
- those who bought v1 months ago have, i guess, already got loads of value out of it.
- those who bought it recently have not (yet).

So the recent buyers should get more of a discount when upgrading to v2. :!: :!:

here's a (daft) example:
long-term users - v1 price $80, value so far $100, v2 upgrade price (guess) $60.
net price = 80-100+60 = $40

recent users - v1 price $80, value so far $20, v2 upgrade $60, discount (guess) $40
net price = 80-20+60-40 = $80.

So, it all depends. And. depending on the pricing policy, it might even be economic to purchase a fresh copy of v1 soon, then upgrade to v2.

Jules and Mackie have a tightrope to walk. let's hope they get it right.

I still dont see what everybody's worried about. Companies give grace periods for people that bought software right before an update. Usually its around 2-4 weeks. Other than that everybody should pay the same.

I mean how would they know if you got value out of the software or not. What about the lazy folks who make 1 song a year. Should they get more of a discount becuase they didnt get enough value out of it. I sold 3 beats my first week with tracktion but on 1 the month after that. Should I mail them my taxes so they can see how much value I got out of it . Thats insane. Its costs 80 bux. Go buy it, make music, be happy, expect to pay for T2.

I don't care if the upgrade does come in polish. I'm still going to buy it. I'll learn to speak a new language and maybe get to wear exciting new fashions from a foriegn land. wow. :D

I'd pay just to have no bugs in t1.

pants to t2.

I'm just worried about actually being able to buy the upgrade. I don't have a credit card and since Tracktion went to Mackie, they don't accept Switch anymore. :(

That said, I might have to get a credit card just to get some action on my pole.

At $80 Tracktion was a bargain for me. I've produced more music since purchasing it, rather than buying 3rd party books and wading through 600-page manuals.

I would gladly pay $50 for an upgrade if it was justified by new features. To be honest, what is there to add to T2? Here's my list:

- Skinable GUI
- MP3 Export
- Support for MFX (i.e. Slicy Drummer etc)
- Lighter CPU usage (it's already lean, but hey :) )
- Drum MIDI mapping/editing ala CubaseSX/Sonar
- Ability to lock the size of the VU Meters and Volume/Pan on the right side to tidy up the screen

That's it for me. I don't need a mixer or 347.5 other fancy schmancy features. And $50 is a good upgrade price point if I get those features - whether I'd bought T1 yesterday or a year ago.

By the way, my prediction is T2 for November at the earliest guys .. don't hold your breath.
