Ok, Hive has the best Reverb i ever heard in a Plugin but i do not feel the same
about Bazile's Spring reverb, its the complete opposite (and of course this is only
my opinion since i never liked Spring Reverbs). I want something similar or same
in Bazile please, now...lol. Any opinions?

Thanks

I hoped all the U-he plugins would have the Diva effects applied to them all.
I thought the Hive effects are it's weakest point. The chorus, phase, reverb, and delay.
The eq, distortion, compressor are great though.

edit: No problem with the effects, but me the user. I retract this statement.
I was too quick to judge, as I don't use effects when making sounds, and then after going back and experimenting more with the effects, I just found it was more difficult for me in Hive, than Diva, to get the effects to mix better with the sound. Eq and compression do help, but it also may be that my output levels while creating sounds without any effects are simply too high, and overpowered the mix, leaving the effects no room in the mix. Though I don't recall having to figure this kind of thing out with Diva. So if I just bring the main output down a bit, the effects won't sound as if they're stuck in the background, and will fit with the sound better.

Didn't Urs say somewhere that phaser and chorus in Hive were lifted from Diva?

In fact, even all the modes are the same (Chorus/Dramatic/Ensemble, Stoned/Flanged).

Something doesn't sound right with the effects in Hive.
They sound like they're not mixing with the sounds right.
Like they're in the background, but not part of the sound.
Maybe there's some kind of send level that's needed.
The mix level knob doesn't help either.

I honestly like the spring reverb in Bazille. You might consider adding a reverb you like in your DAW. I almost mentioned a free reverb I got off the internet, but since u-he sells Uhbik (it has a reverb), I didn't think u-he would appreciate that.

I already have quiet a few high end Reverb Plugins such as Tsar-1. PhoenixVerb, NeoVerb,
Verberate and getting Breverb 2 tooi mean i understand i can use the DAW for that and
i do not mean this as a big deal but its nice to have all the FX in the SoftSynth FX too.
On the other hand i can understand why a Spring Reverb is part of a Modular Syth such
as Bazile...probably one of the most/best fun synth to play with around.

I don't get that. They sound just fine over here. :)

Since the reverb and effects section is the last part in the synthesizer output, why not just bypass it and use one of your nicer ones?

Something isn't set right with the effects here.
I've compared them side by side with Diva, and the effects in Hive sound, far in the back, where as Diva's sound right up front, and with a clarity that the Hive does not have.
I can make the effects seem more up front if I use the compressor as a boost, but that shouldn't be necessary. I don't like using the compressor anyway.
Test those sounds without the compressor, then compare them with Diva.
The effects sound noisy and washed out in the background in comparison to my ears.
I'll post an audio test clip.

I don't get that either (the effects in Hive good to me, especially the reverb). Looking forward to the audio test clip.

For me I love the spring reverb in Bazille and I love how well Hive's reverb sits in a mix but don't think it sounds "amazing megareverb". It is subtle but gets the job done. To each his own I suppose.

For really "big" sounding reverbs I need to use 3rd party plugins, but that's fine. I prefer the plugins to have effects that give them a style, I can always just use external effects if I need something else.

EDIT:

As for the other effects, all of the U-He phasers I have tried so far sound out of this world to me including the one in Hive. The distortion is probobly my favorite in a synth so far and the delay gets the job done without much fuss.

If U-he delays weren't so difficult to program (at least for me), always get confused by the multiplying and stuff. :?

Chorus, Phaser, Reverb and Delay are taken from Diva. Phaser was robbed of its Sync function, Reverb got an extra Tone and Width control, Delay got simplified and Width control added. The algorithms are identical otherwise.

That's why in Hive we removed the multiplication stuff. You can go straight into standard note lengths.

So much about that placebo effect you're having, mcnoone. :)
