Hello Jo,

today I had a problem changing the way Mulab 6.2.7 runs under windows 7.

Problem started trying to run sampletank 2.5. It asks for administrator rights (first vst so, no problem with the other about 40 I have installed so far). So I thought no problem cause this is kind of a general problem under win 7.

I have not thought about it when running Mulab UL the first times cause I was kind of in a hurry to try evrything out :hyper:

So I just changed the properties to "always run as administrator". When I started Mulabe the next time EVRYTHING WAS GONE. Started with audio driver settings, no recents songs anymore, all VST-Plugins gone, I am not even sure if it was the registered version.

Gladly after turning off "run as administrator" it works again, ufff....but that dont solve my sampletank problem. And choosing right mouse button and "run as administrator" each time when starting the program causes same problems (evrything gone).

I am not quite sure if it is a bug, so I am just asking in general.

Kind regards,

Richard

In what folder did you install MuLab?

Post

"C:\Program Files (x86)\mulab-6-2-7-win32\MuLab (32 bit)\MuLab.exe

Please see http://www.mutools.com/info/docs/mulab/ ... ation.html

Concrete: Move the MuLab folder outside the Program Files folder. No need to reinstall MuLab, you can simply move the folder.

No, same problem after just cutting it and puttin directly on C. Evrything is gone, even the registration, it is then "Mulab free" again. Should have read the installation info, sorry, but because of its portability I just havent cared about it. But now I am really dont know what to do.

Luckily cutting and putting it back works but as I said dont solve the problem.

Pls do this:

* Leave your current install as is.
* New install on C:\MuLab

Does that new install work as you want? Apart from the ST problem i mean.

I am not quite sure what you mean. I have downloaded and unpacked Mulab again and copied it to C/Mulab. But of course it just started as blank free version with nothing from my settings.

Copying the "user" direction as described in installation dont help, its just the blank free installation with nothing.

Please go step by step, for good testing.

Step 1:

* Delete all MuLab installs you recently did on C:/ (keep your original MuLab install though, eventually move it appart somewhere)
* Now do a fresh new MuLab install on C:/ (don't mind your user settings for now)
* Use that test install. Does it keep your new settings? It should.

O.K., seems I have found something (though it not solves the general problem). It seems that someway sometimes dont know why the user settings where stored in:

C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\mulab-6-0-28-win32\User

I have copied this user directory to the new one under C/Mulab. Now that works though the program crashes on evry first start, second one works then. But it is possible to run as administrator now and sample tank seems to work. But something still looks kind of not really stable..
