Believe it or not, radiation jokes are common and rather ubiquitous in our neck of the world.
Didn't think much of it one way or the other. I got a chuckle out of it and moved on to what seemed more relative in the announcement.

On a side note: Has anybody seen the new microphones used specifically for psycho-acoustic sampling? They use the new plutonium 238 large diaphragm for a new face melting sensitivity unmatched by any other microphone on the market!

The millisecond I saw the cave picture it was obvious it was the standard technique of extrapolating layers of a photo (or combining different photos) for a fake 3d effect. Happens in pretty much every documentary made since 2010. Just a nice visual touch. Or... A CONSPIRACY!!!!!

BIGFOOT SPOTTED RECORDING A STALACTITE THAT LOOKS LIKE ELVIS IN AN UNDERGROUND CAVE!!!

Tjgoa wrote:Okay so I watched the video and noticed something odd. The video of them recording in the stalactite cave looks fake!! Look at the 24:20 point and they are still pictures of people moving across a background. It just looks totally fake!! Can anyone expand or confirm this maybe if you are familiar with photoshop or working with photos/videos?

Yes.... they cut and pasted the people in the raft on to the cave picture. Then they showed a real picture with a person holding a mic in the cave. But you do have a conspiracy theory that you can explain to your grandkids some day. Good luck with that one. :dog:

Whoa, whoa, whoa....Bigfoot jokes are crossing the line, man. My great uncle Marty (rest his soul) was killed in a bizarre bigfoot incident. Not cool.

What backwards messages are hidden on these new recordings, I wonder.

mholloway wrote:I agree with noiseboyuk -- the point is that a sample you have can be turned into a basic Soundsource. If you want to edit that sample in detail, you need to use an audio editor before importing. But did anybody really think Omnisphere was ever going to add full sample-editing features? And would you actually want it to? Let's be realisitc...or if the complaint is the lack of velocity zones and all those other sample-mapping specific features, again: this isn't Kontakt, it's Omnisphere. I guess if the desire is to have One thing become Everything, you could have that stuff on your wishlist... I just want to be able to load samples and use the same old Omnisphere Edit Page controls on them we've used for years on all the factory soundsources.
It's fine for it to have or not have whatever... and from my side, it is not a complaint. Since Alchemy was just discontinued I was momentarily excited that Omni2 could replace it for me when I saw that it could import audio... now I see it cannot and that is okay and I will look elsewhere.

Echoes in the Attic wrote:I have to say though, I'm a bit surprised they don't go with something like SFZ import. Because then Omni doesn't need all the zone and velocity editing of a major sampler. We already know it has the capability to store multiple key and velocity zones and round robin for internal patches. It would make sense to have SFZ import and treat them the same way as internal soundsources. Leave people to edit their multi-zone patches outside of Omni.
Yeah, that is what Alchemy has... which I find to be a good middle ground.

Assuming Omni2 does not have that (which is not actually sure yet and may end up being there) that is why I call it audio import not sample import.

And why Omni2 still will not replace Alchemy for me (which is what got me excited)...anyway, Alchemy will keep working for a good while so there is no hurry. Maybe Omni3 ;-)

To be honest, I thought your post was funny as I had almost the exact same thought about the oddity of having a fabricated animation instead of actual footage. The other thing I thought, enjoying a spelunking adventure myself every now and then, is that almost all stalactites of a certain size will be very much resonant and produce beautiful tones when struck no matter where their location is. So, the next question becomes obvious. Why go radioactive???

The implications are.............. st.......staggering.

Not really.. I'm getting back to work now.
Who is "I"? What is "I"? This has yet to be explained.

Those three additions sold me.
Good post. I understated the fact I feel exactly the same about the wavetable morphing, ring and freq mods. Really happy about these additions.

I know I didn't mention it really, but this is also a nice improvement that piques my interest.

The envelope filter really got my attention too.

I probably have unfounded expectations of what this synth is now capable of.

But I do know one thing: It will take me 2.540816 dollars a day in a shoe box to be ready on April 30 and I just spent 100 today on a new electric cigarette, so I have to stay focused.

Probably not, this is KVR :D

BTW, did I dream or did E.P. mention circuit modeling for the FX ??
