lol, hate boner. Some people do seem to have hate boners for certain companies.

Well just for the record, I had Apple do something similar to me. I was one of the Windows users who got left out in the cold when Apple bought Emagic (Logic). I had way too much invested in my PC to switch to a Mac.

So any company can leave you high and dry. That said, I wouldn't be very worried about Spectrasonics.

Professional what?
;) :hihi:
I just feel (even when i use an iPhone, iPad and Mac for music) that Apple has too many bugs and restricions when it comes to Audio. They gave me coro audio even on an iPad and i like(d) Logic and Sculpture is one of my favourite tools but in general i think it could be far better, especially when they could optimize hard- and software. That's just my experience and we all know that such disscussions end nowhere..

I had much better experience (in the software side) from most of the third party developers while Apple's focus is on the iPhone customer which plays Angry Birds (dramatized).

Back to topic:
I had just good experince with Spectrasonics and i will buy the upgrade in a heart beat.

True. I don't hate Spectrasonics though.
I just observe a great deal of their customer base are the hate they project on others.
Maybe they think me a pr*ck, but might that be because they 'sfear' their bubble being popped? ;)

I've seen rational Omni-users here and there. But they do seem to be in the minority.
Like I've said before, what seems to be my last reservation in buying Omni is something Spectrasonics has no control over.

What exactly is it that Spectrasonics has no control over? You've stated this twice but I can't find your explanation of what exactly that is anywhere and I've been through this whole thread.

Then I must be the stupidest person on the planet because I have no idea what you're talking about.

Whatever.

Basically the reason he doesn't want to get Omni isn't because of Spectrasonics but because the behavior of other people, because that matters or something.

Are you telling me he doesn't want to buy Omnisphere because he doesn't like the users of the product?

Okay. :o

No.. FL is FL.. after 12 years you should slowly forget that it was "Fruity Loops".

There's no current software that's called Fruity Loops. If you're confused about this, read: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FL_Studio

Norrin_Radd wrote:The price for this thing is all wrong. I am just curious, who is Omnisphere for? What do you all use it for, and why do you use it over something else?
Various things. Probably patches based on the classic synth multisamples more than any other single thing (the Jupiter 8, OB-8 and Prophet VS stuff in particular). Choir stuff, processed guitar sounds, strange things that start with an acoustic sound but end up a little warped, etc. Some of the legacy sampled content like the choirs, exotic stringed instruments, etc. is almost like hearing an old friend again, having used it with a Kurzweil back in the '90s (in the days when the choir sample collection alone cost as much as Omnisphere does).

Btw, your boss is really, really scary. I sure wouldn't ever have the nerve to ask him for a raise.
