Is there a freebie/cheapo equivalent to waves ultramaximizer?

I'm talking about the L2/L3 maximizer from waves. A freebie would be nice.

I just bought the M1 Limiter Lite from http://www.finalmix.biz/Final_Mix_Software/Home.html
Great plug which gets the job done and reasonably priced.

Not free, but only costs 20€ and pretty good stuff. Check it out, the only demo limitation is that you can't save presets. Cool dev too.

I discovered for my self exactly the same thing between pro l and barricade.TheoM wrote:piel wrote:http://www.toneboosters.com/tb-barricade/

absolutely. There is nothing better in that price range or for free. In fact it's in, IMO, the top 5 limiters of all time regardless of price. It's just an absolute steal and preserves the signal integrity unbelievably well, even though it's not the overall "loudest" (but one of the top 5 in that area also) - I prefer it even to pro - L in terms of what goes in = what comes out.. the only thing pro L does better IMO is the display and that it can go louder, but transients can distort more in Pro L I find. It's always tricky to get the right mode. Barricade seems to have completely nailed the loudness vs quality ratio.
Barricade is as close to the perfect "load and move one knob" limiter as currently possible.
It's an essential brilliant mastering tool.
Since the topic did also use the word cheap, not just free, i highly recommend this is the one the OP try out and hopefully buy. It's in a different league to waves' stuff. It works well on all genres of music too
If i need a bit more loudness i place maximizer before the barricade and sounds fair enough !

Yohn G.? ...Do you have any information concerning his momentary whereabouts? I have some "absolutly casual" questions..bpblog wrote:+.... there's also: http://www.yohng.com/software/w1limit.html

(TB Barricade seems a good option)

Maxwell Smart
I am beta testing the big brother of it for quite some time now and I am pretty satisfied with it.
Cheers
