Well, most of the times, this kind of post is like "look how smart I am, I can change, your tool is just insufficient for my amazing skills". This is not really my state of mind.
First, I feel a bit sad of leaving a so amazing tool. I felt very inspired with it and composed a lot of tunes.
T4 was a rebirth and I was kind of happy with that. I forced myself to keep with it despite many bugs.
T5 marked the start of something bad IMO. First: the interface (seriously, what about these coder's colours...) the whole interface became bloaty, the fonts hard to read. When the project is becoming big, the interface is slow. Copy/Paste are not always of the highest response. Then many updates in a row with some mistakes, then still random crashes.
Also my CPU (Quad Core / 8 Gb) is seriously requested.
All in all, T5 is bloaty and not really inspiring to me.
Last week, I decided to switch for good to Reaper. After many hours working on a project, I was not able to export it (to work on my laptop). It was not working, with various poof crashes. I spent 2 hours on that...
Reaper is really nice. I composed my first song with it yesterday. The interface is nicely responsive, the workflow is brilliant.
I hope it's just temporary and that T6 will be a real rebirth.
After 10 years with "T", switching to Reaper

Horses for courses dude; use the tools you're comfortable with. Sounds like it's no longer Tracktion, so fair enough, best wishes n'all that, namaste, etc. Pop by now and then, good stuff is happening, Tracktion will always be an old friend

I never again want to work with anything that doesn't have the new Celemony ARA plugin communication. A little editing of my acoustic parts and I simply never want to go back. This means that my three DAW options are Pro One, Sonar and Tracktion. Not ProTools or Reaper. I am personally sticking with Tracktion. Yes, I have a few VST plugins that still aren't working, but T5 is still my most comfortable and efficient option.
