How About A Sampler?

It seems to me there is room in the market for a new sampler. The existing options are plagued by one or more of the following:

1. too complicated
2. buggy
3. have bad sounding filters
4. don't support all the existing formats (VST, AU, AAX)
5. have poor import functionality
6. lack keyboard mapping
7. lack auto-looping

I would buy a sampler that had the above functionality in a second if the price were reasonable.

Something as simple as live's Sampler would be great. Simple but so unique, easy and deep.

Yes. A U-he Sampler would be awesome !

With features such as auto-sampling, so we can sample from HW synths. (kind of what Redmatica did for Mac).

Easy, and fast GUI, drag & drop samples from DAW, and if you want to go one step further, direct sampling from source would be very cool. i.e. Geist and Reason Samplers do this.

Maybe a Granular Synth Engine could be integrated as well.

I recall a video interview with Urs, where he mentioned he would be interested in having a Sampler in his product line. So, hopefully these are few ideas that he might want to think about.

imho. a U-he Sampler should offer something very cool and unique, since there are other samplers around.

I actually miss my Korg Microsampler but the limited RAM made it hard to use.

Friend of mine wants a sampler with a sequencer built in, that shows in realtime the waveforms of the samples instead of notes on the grid. So imagine a box, like you get with Giest, but waveforms inside the box. It would have to be a bit larger.

Say you transpose a sound, the waveform display needs to update to show where the transients now reside.

The whole point for him is that seeing the transients allows him to align things very easily. And he's right, it's very helpful to see the transients.

For the love of god, please make a sampler that can actually SAMPLE. That's about the only thing I miss from the old hardware days. It feels so much more spontaneous.

There are sampler out there which are conceptionally totally oversized. They do a lot but nothing right.
A sampler from u-he can never be wrong. I'd love to see it

I would love a simple sampler where I just drag a folder with WAV files (like kicks) and they are automapped from C1 forward. As well as stored in the project so they are not lost.

To be quite honest, I love U-He product, but in no way is his/their interface ideas geared towards an Apple/Ableton like simplicity. It seems if you want a simple sampler then you might be barking up the wrong tree here.

Personally I'm just wanting them to get busy on Zebra 3 and Filterscape 2 among other things.

I think it will be a huge waist of time by Uhe to make a separate sampler with that features u ask because i do not see what is wrong with Kontakt 5 unless they make something radically new and better. But i think until Berlin modular is not finished Uhe should not focus on something else.
