I have just sent the crash logs to Rogue Amoeba developer of Audio Hijack where my device chain CL compressor, Kaleidoscope B2 were crashing the program, so hopefully this issue will be solved, as this setup seemed to be the most CPU efficient for my system with Kaleidoscope, though there is still an issue with lack of tempo sync input.

I also am requesting that they look at enabling 64bit mono file formatting for their inexpensive but rock solid editor Fission.

The combination of Fission and Audio Hijack can be simple and inexpensive way to get on board with using Kaleidoscope on lower spec'd systems on the Mac OS.

Edit: Edit: thu 16:36 Central Europe time.

I've been in communication with the Developer for Audio Hijack and he said that the older version of Audio Hijack runs in Carbon, and this was likely the problem, the new version runs in Cocoa and is 64 bit and is the recommended version for Kaleidoscope. So I suspect if you are running and Mavericks or earlier OS on the Mac, using Kaleidoscope in audio hijack pro 2.4.11 May result in issues..

An issue with the GUI that another post had mentioned, has been resolved since 3.0.1

waves break, but somehow it all makes sense.

2CAudio: Where and when will the update be posted for registered users? Will we get an email? Thanks

Hmmmm...where?

Export Audio -> Other uncompressed files -> Wav (Microsoft) -> 64 bit float

Command-Click for single sample edit.

Here comes a choir-like texture made with KS using the internal noise generator to excite the string resonators, using 2 images produced with ArtMatic and a waveform tuning file created in Metasynth. Some crusherX grains in the upper octave, B2 for reverb.
Darkish-heavenly...

Thanks! Don't know how I missed that!

Wow! This seems so simple and so obvious, but is leading me to some fantastic results

Cool stuff happens.

A lot of real-world instruments have this kind of thing happening.... so, surprise, surprise, this kind of thing is cool in KS also... :D

Inikj, sorry to be a pain here, but this is not happening for me. I can see how to get down to the finest resolution, with the dots in the waveforms indicating samples, but I still can't figure out how to change the scale from seconds to samples, so unless I count 2048 dots I am stuck... :? Also, if I command-click, I start the playback rolling, though I can select with drag-click... Thanks for your help!

Do you see the selection box down the bottom?

Click the triangle next to any of those input boxes and change to 'samples'.

Find the start position that you want in your file.

Select the radio button 'length' instead of 'end'.

Type in '2048'.

Thanks, Inikj! I got it. I'm excited to see if this really does it... Wow!!!

So I am still having trouble with creating my own waveform. Using Audacity, I selected a portion of a file 2048 samples long, and exported it in 64 (floating) bit. I get an error message when trying to open it in KS. Is that correct, or do I have the specs wrong here? Thanks, anyone...

It has to be mono, stereo files can not be used.

Texture made with 2 instances of Kaleidoscope using a similar custom preset 2 octaves apart in range, both processing the same synth sequence played with Logic's sculpture, B2 for reverb processing.
