Does the 'key file' change the demo to full version?

thanks
Hi,

The key file doesn't not change the demo to full version, since demo has been ripped. About your password problems, please email us to: orders [at] squaredheads [dot] com

Don't worry, it will be out in few days, hopefully this weekend (or the next monday - tuesday). Anyway, thank you

anyway, great news to hear 2.2 will be out real soon! good work.

They're different formats. VST plugins allow MIDI Output, but AU plugins doesn't. So, for these sequencers on Mac that only work with AU plugins (Like Logic) cannot use Nora directly, as you're doing with the VST version. That's why Nora AU creates a virtual MIDI port in Mac, but this method has some caveats like:
- The routing may not be saved with the project
- There is an undesired lack of accuracy with the output notes.

So, instead fixing AU, Apple created another format that only work with Logic Pro X, based on the AU specifications (AU SDK), that allows you use Nora as you're doing with the VST in a PC, without using virtual MIDI ports and with a perfect timming, but using a different format.

I will search and read the Sonar MFX documentation the next week. If it's easy to implement and it's based on the VST SDK, I'll generate a MFX version for Sonar - I cannot re-code 200.000 lines only for that version :o)
squareheads,

Thanks for the prompt reply. Now I am very glad that I have a PC and VSTi.

The Sonar MFX supported also by Cubase from what I recall is superior to VSTi midi fx which is what Nora is. Don’t know why the MFX is superior. One big plus is that it fits before the VSTi and therefore does not need a track to function.

I second the motion for a midi fx plugin version for PC! But only if it is not too much work for you of course! :)

forget about the MFX for PC because it's not base on the vst sdk, it's abandoned afaik

Yes, unfortunately it seems. I had been reading about it, but most of the docs/forum links provided by Cakewalk are dead. It seems it's based in an old plugin system, DirectX SDK, instead VST SDK. Anyway, I'll investigate it more the next week.

Here are some mfx plugins for reference

http://www.midiplugins.com/

But I agree, (more or less) dead format and probably not worth the hassle.

Post

it's only dead format because Cakewalk is a lame company imo and Steinberg has pushed VST very aggressively.

for midi f/x it is ideal.

but even so i appreciate looking in to it!

NORA is the best thing to happen to midi plugins in a very long time..

Will do. Thanks.
I'm not a musician, but I've designed sounds that others use to make music. http://soundcloud.com/obsidiananvil

Good progress in v2.2, especially the expantion to 64 pattern.
Would it be possible to also expand from 8 to 16 tracks, because many multitimbral VSTi have 16 MIDI-Channels.

Hi, for our registered users: You can download Nora 2.2 from your Persona Data page already. There is no need to use a new key file, it will use the same than previous version. We will send a proper newsletter this monday. Happy phrasing!

It will, in a close future version. You will be able add/remove tracks. :tu:
