Hi all,

Does anyone need some drum sounds from Eclipsis?
I tried some today and I think the sound quite usable. First you hear the sounds dry, only with internal effects of the synth. Second part is with EQ on each sound and the FerricTDS (Variety of Sound) in the master channel.

Here the presets from this demo:

Thank you for the bank, Yvonne!
I was working on my entry for the contest and it was going nowhere :o
So, I decided to check out your presets.
Here is a little piece inspired by Arp_Funny Mood.
Some presets are yours!

I hope you don't mind using the name. :)

------------------edit February 14th-----------------------
After a lot of editing I've decided to submit this entry.
There are 24 instances of the synth in Reaper.
No external plugins, just ReaEq on a couple of tracks.

Yes I do. I was trying (unsuccessfully) to invent a dark snare.
Yours is what I needed.

Thanks,

Hi all,
some nice guys from the Eclipsis Thread put me gentle in chains and dragged me to here for to join the party  (I`m just kidding).

Let`s say: They motivated and encouraged me and although I`m very shy  ( ) I`m defeated and so I will also try to produce something for this contest. I will probably need the whole time until the deadline as far as I know myself. I hope that I can make it in time.

@Tatanka: As you see I`m also here now. I suppose you are very amused now. Are you? Good luck Richard.

@BbluntProductions: You`re welcome :)

@sfiks: LOL. That`s just great!!! That`s the most happy Blues I`ve ever listened. No I don`t mind you using the name for the track. It suits very well. I`m glad that my presets seem to work well in practise. Good luck :)

I have got a last question (for the moment):
It seems that it is useful to open up a Soundcloud account for the OSC entry only, right?

I suppose that I should use my KVR forum avatar and my KVR username for this OSC account. Also right?

I have got already a Soundcloud account, but using another Username for it and so my question is: Is it possible to open up 2 different accounts on Soundcloud and do I have to know something before I try to open up a second Account? By the way: I`m new to Soundcloud and also haven`t got any uploads yet, that is why I rather ask before I try something.

Cheers
Yvonne

You know Yvonne, about 36 years ago I decided I wanted to start writing music. I had no idea if I'd be any good, nor did I care. It was just something I was going to do. There were times when I wondered if I was wasting my time with all the negative comments I was getting (and rightfully so) but several industry professionals essentially said to me that if I didn't keep at it, I'd never know and I might actually end up regretting it.

I'm not saying the OSC is going to change your life or anything like that, but you just don't know what may come of it. Had I given up in 1979 before I even started, I wouldn't have had the small successes that I've had over the years. No, I'm not famous or anything like that, but I've had my little victories. I currently run a modestly successful business. I may never become a household name, but I'm not a total failure either.

As you get older, you'll figure out that life is short and regrets become many as you get older. One thing I can at least say is that I don't regret all the years I've put into music. I only wish I had started sooner.

Throw caution to the wind and go for it.

You have absolutely nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Yvonne
I would say no. Only one person I think in OSC has done this, so it's not common at all. A lot of people like getting the comments / plays which helps motivate them using the same account.

@wagtunes: Thanks for telling me your experiances and conclusions. Originally I know that you are right, it is just that I have to overcome my upload "phobia"

Concerning the age: Hm, I would call myself an old woman (although I feel like a child) And yes you are also right in what you said about becoming older. Carpe Diem

@bjporter: Thanks for the info. Okay then I will use the Soundcloud account I already have.

Upload phobia. Eh, screw it. What's the worst that can happen? Somebody says it sucks? I can wallpaper my house with all the rejection letters I got from music publishers.

Wayne Gretzky said it best.

To be honest, the first few OSC's i participated in, I sweated before uploading, and could barely sleep. But after a while I think it was therapeutic.

Also, someone somewhere hates your music. There's always somebody, so just try and make stuff you like, and practice / read up on tips, etc.

I think with age (I don't know how old you are) you reach a point where nothing bothers you anymore. I'm 57 and decided I'm going to give this OSC a shot if for no other reason than to see how bad I really am. The synth has some work issues for me (not easy to use in my DAW) so it's going to be a challenge in areas that I normally don't even have to think about, but that'll be good. It'll test me to see how well I can do with sub optimal tools at my disposal such as premium plugins and so on. I'm using all the stock verbs and compression that came with Cubase. It's real culture shock. LOL.

Hey, just have fun with it. It's not like somebody's going to come to your house and take away your music privileges.

Thank you for the comment!
It was fun to work on the piece. My feet still tap uncontrollably when I listen to it and I'm very glad that I was able to produce it within 2 days.

I haven't decided to submit it to the contest - still will be working on another piece.

What I love about this contest is that it pushes your creativity to start working. Listening to what others composed using the same tools is fun and and a great lesson also. I hate voting, but it comes with the territory. My 1st entry a couple of months ago won the last place :( , still I love my baby.

Good luck to you too! :)
