There we go, I was wondering why KVR was allowing me to edit without a duplicate post.

Duplicate post.

Post

Since KVR forum seems to have trouble with editing posts, I'll post new...

I think my post, a few back, about Hive's GUI not showing in Cubase is not Hive's fault, per se.

Other plugins are doing the same in this larger 5gb project.

A Steinberg engineer suggested that some plugins, even 64-bit ones, if ported in a 32-bit way, would have problems with 4gb DAW projects (even 64-bit DAWs).

I wouldn't think 64-bit U-he plugins are done this way, incorrectly, and are therefore probably not affected. Perhaps someone can confirm.

Anyway, I'm able to get around the issue of Hive not showing its GUI by going on a plugin and track deleting rampage in Cubase 8.05 x64 Win7, along with the other plugins that also don't show their GUI (yet some do).

In other news, already addicted to Hive and ready to be assimilated, or at least buy it during the intro price.

One suggestion that would be quite easy to do.

When using the quick knob for assigning the mod envelopes to the filter (MOD 1/2) you can only switch between them. At times it's pretty useful to be able to use both envelopes on one filter.

(I know you can do that with the routing - but I thought it would be more convenient to be able to activate both the 1 and 2 buttons).

But then you wouldn't have independent depth control. Not worth it.

When doing a bunch of presets I just realized that

I'm really enjoying Hive and the community's presets.

I mentioned this somewhere above in this thread, but it would be very helpful if there were some indication of signal flow (easy to see in Zebra2 and Bazille). Exponential Audio's Excalibur (just announced this week) seems to have a great implementation of this, with tiny signal indicator lines under the knobs. Just sayin'.

Hive has a (mostly) fixed signal flow and is outlined on page 18 of the fledgling manual:

It's a pretty straight forward osc -> filt -> fx configuration. What part of it are you finding difficult (or prefer to see visually)?

It's just a visual thing. But I hadn't seen the diagram (doh!), so thanks for sharing that. Oh, and flashing lights are cool, too.

That flow diagram is out of date. Here's a more recent version...

How difficult would it be to introduce a hard Sync to the Oscillators? I love the bottom end of Hive but i bought Dune2 for now.. will save up for Hive

The notes you don't play creates the silent gaps for you to hear the notes you do play :phones:

Very useful. Thanks for posting that Howard. :tu:

Are there flow diagrams like this for other u-he synths or are most too complex to create such diagrams for? I'm guessing the latter, especially for a synth like Zebra or Bazille which can have an almost unfathomable number of user defined signal paths.

There are all sorts of hexagons on my box of Honey Nut Cheerios. Hive is even influencing my breakfast cereal?

Difficulty is not the question. CPU-usage is.
