Hi,

How can i move the selected channel notes in the step sequncer by 1/16 th note.
It moves by 3/16 th notes annoying if you want to move hihat from downbeat to offbeat for example.

Change step length to 1/8 with 16 steps? Or have I misunderstood?

No, let say I want to move a note right or left by one step, but currently it moves 3 steps at the same time.

I'm still on T5, but the step sequencer doesn't allow you to MOVE notes, does it? I got the idea you could only toggle them on or off...?

Looks powerful, but potentially restrictive. I wanted a simple 4/4 drum track, but assigned to 8th notes to allow for a double kick on the drums. Then wanted a triplet on snare, but for the life of me couldn't figure out how to do that. If I divide into 12 for the triplet, then can't do the double kick... And every time I try to change the number of intervals, it messes everything up ! Where's the manual, or a good description on how it works...?

Peter, when you first click on the grid, you can set step length and number of steps. If you're using 4/4 time, set the step length to 1/3 and then (for one bar) set number of steps to 12 (or 24 for 2 bars, etc). That will allow you to enter three notes per beat. You might want to use 1/6 and 24 (for one bar) to allow a little daylight between hits.

Mine moves one step at a time. Have you altered any default settings after putting your step clip in place? I used the little arrows in the property panel and assume you did too.

I managed to reproduced the issue.
If you "append selected section" once, notes move by 2 steps, if you "append selected section" once more, notes move by 3 steps.
If I remove all appended sections, note move by 1 step.

Think it's a bug.

I'm having a problem with the step sequencer but perhaps I'm doing something wrong. I set up a new track with a step sequencer clip, make a pattern and then create several other tracks with samplers on them but I am unable to route the step channels to anything, if I click on Set Destination nothing happens. Is there something else I need to do in order get this to work?

Click in the box just under 'Set Destination'.

Maybe there is a bug in the linux version then? I don't see any boxes under it:

edit: just watched the T6 video, I don't get that pop-under box with destinations, literally nothing happens when I press Set Destination.

I tested this with other MDrummer and EZDrummer inserted on the track with the step clip and both appear as destinations. But when I insert Sampler, it doesn't appear as a destination. I also tried putting the instruments in a rack but that didn't help. I think there is something going on with Sampler related to step clips. I will log that as a bug.

When it's working right you can just load all the instruments on the same track with the Step Clip and select Set Destination per channel.

If you really want them all on different tracks there is a way to do that by wrapping each instrument in a Rack and copying the wrapped instance to both the separate track and the step clip track. I could make a quick video explaining the setup, but there is some general weirdness with the Set Destination feature that needs to be worked out.

Thanks for the explanation, I think I understand what you mean about using racks as a workaround but I'm just glad to know that it's not just me doing something wrong. I just tried with some vsts on the same track and it works although it puts them in to a wrapper and there seems to be no way of renaming the actual vsts so the wrapper quickly becomes messy.

The way it wraps some VSTs when you select them under Set Destination for a Step Clip channel, seems like a bug. I imagine they will get that sorted.

I put together a video on the update Step Clips in Tracktion 6:
