Yes, no big deal. I admit using the cracked version at some point in my life. Even now, I found an 'Army of Ninjas' bundle with +850 soundbanks (including the banks from many fellow KVRers and top sound designers). But that doesn't matter. The point is that one of the reasons S1 is so popular, it's the wide and open public availability of cracked software and its bazillion preset banks and all these kids on youtube seeing their EDM idols using them.

Yeah, it's a good point that they can be considered as role models, who should do the right thing actually. It's also pretty paradox, because they benefit from the industry continuing to program nice software, so they can make money with their music. All true. I just don't get the moral witch hunt, which often happens here or elsewhere on the internet. I mean, one could believe that the people executing it are so holy that they never had a illegal copy of a music CD, film DVD, or a warezed program on their computer, or never got a gift with something warezed in it. Which is very hard to believe really. As i said in another thread, even my mother has some warezed stuff. That's not the problematic thing anyway. The problematic thing is the attitude of everything being available for free on the internet. And i honestly can't see that here. When Future Music does its videos, you see a whole lot of legal stuff on the monitor, and you see a whole studio of expensive equipment. If anything, then it's very embarrassing if someone who owns a multi million dollar house on the beach is caught with a warezed plugin in one of those videos. But i don't see a reason to demonize the guy.

There still is no 64-bit version for OSX, only for Windows.

Frankly, I doubt that is the real reason. I assume it has more to do with the fact that developing stuff for OSX sucks, other developers are also complaining about compatibility and maintenance issues with every new OSX version.

Bought Sylenth last month. Don't think it's an inspiring synth, and not one I would go-to to design a sound I want. The sole reason for buying it was the low CPU usage, I use it on my older laptop when I have it with me.

Okay, I'm going to try to be as objective about this as I can.

From what I've read and heard (yes, I do know what the synth sounds like) it appears that there are essentially 3 reasons to get this synth over just about anything else if you're into EDM.

1) You can get it for free.

2) Tons of 3rd party banks that comes with all those free downloads.

3) Has an excellent sound. (I never said it didn't)

So, as somebody who will NOT download a cracked piece of software (for fear of downloading a virus with it) tell me what possible reason I would have to spend $158 on a synth?

Or let me put it this way. What will that $158 Sylenth1 give me that these synths that I already own WON'T give me.
