Any loops or synths bundled with T6?

Forgive me if this is a dumb question, I am new to DAWs and Tracktion, could someone explain to me where I can find info on what audio loops and MIDI synths are included with Tracktion 6? I (incorrectly?) assumed that the licensed version had more than the demo and after activating T6 what's available has not changed...

There's very little bundled with it. It keeps the cost down. The demo version makes noise every few seconds so couldn't be used to produce finished recordings.

No loops or synths. There's a basic sampler.

Been discussing bundles in another thread just now; might be worth your time reading it (http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... 5#p6046700). There are zillions of free and not free synths around.

The download page offers some thrid-party content, namely:

Elastik 2 Free Soundbank -- Elastik_2_free_soundbank.zip - 477.6 MiB -- April 4, 2013

and

ReWire shared libraries -- ReWire Shared Libraries.zip -- 1.5 MiB -- March 5, 2014

Has anyone here downloaded this stuff and used it? If so, what is the quality of each, more or less?

Rewire shared libraries: what is the source of those? Who owns them?

There are loops and samples there, but are there effects?

Thank you.

Thanks for the suggestions

I just found www.vstplanet.com

They have quite a few free VST instruments and effects.

This is a great repository of freeware as well - https://splice.com/plugins/free_plugins

Is it possible or even likely that many of the "free" plug-ins out there are just copies of some company's commercial plug-in, copied, or is that not possible?

There are enough free plugin developers active here at KvR to show that making plugins and giving them away for free is a common thing. Most commercial plugins will have some method of control, so it would take inventive cracking to get past those controls. The people who do that tend to want everyone to know about it, so they generally make it pretty obvious that the plugin is a cracked commercial plugin.
Surely there must be consensus by now...

While we're at it: to what degree are VSTs dependent on on the the type of OS (Windows, Mac, or Linux....,) the version (32 or 64 bit,) and/or the............ version of Windows, ie, Win Xp, 7, 8, etc?? Do you ever get stuck upgrading a zillion dollars worth of VSTs?

Thanks

Post

It all depends on the programmer, really. Every programmer decides which OS, bit depth, and plugin type(s) they want to make. I personally haven't had may issues or been required to upgrade.

The only issues are either going from 32-bit to 64-bit, when many plug-ins will never appear as 64-bit due to age, or changing between Windows/Linux/Mac. There might be the odd occasion when a plug-in won't work in a later release of the OS with unchanged bits. If that were to happen, I'd expect the plug-ins to be from the same crap company whose WaveLab and Clean software will work on Windows XP but not on Windows 7 due to crap coding, lack of foresight, and being a crap company full of crap people without any scruples about writing crap dead-end software that becomes obsolete the next time one buys another computer. They also wrote a crap DAW with about ten million menus, each with a thousand sub-menus, but with many very nice anatomically correct pictures of screw heads in their graphics. I shan't waste any more of my money on that crap company's crap software. Just saying, like.

Allegedly.
