Feature Request: Layering (multi instancing)

I hope I use the right words.
In order to make interesting modern sounds you need layering. its easy to make moving texture rich and detailed sounds. its difficult to get similar results with just effects.
Therefore my idea is for Diva and Zebra for example add 4 inner instances we can switch between and which get the same midi input for triggering notes. saved as patches there will be the standard one instance patch and the multi instance patches.
example:
layer 1 --- layer 2 --- layered sound

Good idea, but I don't totally agree with
Nevertheless sometimes I also layer, but then I prefer anyway multiple synths, instead of one synth having multiple layers. This gives me much more flexibility during mixdown, so I can trim the various layers more heavily to get a good mix. And for a loud mix, the less instruments the easier and faster it can get loud. The more instruments you use the more you have to work the mix
. Other people say the right opposite, but mainly I don't believe much in layering. Usually the mix gets more mushy and muddy. In order to make interesting modern sounds you need layering

I don's think its a good idea either, will get complex and confusing as hell and will eat the CPU for breakfast.

Use a MUX instead. Beside layering, it adds tons of feature to that purpose including complex modulations to the VSTs you decide to use in it etc. But again... no help on CPU issue.Painmooser wrote:I hope I use the right words.

2. Select track
3. Duplicate track
4. Select instrument on duplicate track
5. Change preset

Problem is, how do you share/sell multi-layerd presets if you use your DAW? And it's not about adding complexity to existing u-he products. Just a simple, official u-he vsti shell that can load 4-8 u-he vsti with layer and key-range options, like a simple version of FXpansion Fusor.

Save it within the plugin, et voilà each instance has that preset too. Or you can save the preset within the DAW (e.g. a logic instrument preset, not channel preset). Et voilà all other instances have that preset too.xx JPRacer xx wrote:Problem is, how do you share/sell multi-layerd presets if you use your DAW?
It's not that complicated

^ I mean, how can I share a preset using the layering options of Bitwig or Reaper on PC with someone using Logic on MAC? Using a vsti shell/container is universal, it will load in any DAWs.

Soo, share MUX or Bidule patches?

Yay... that's differentxx JPRacer xx wrote:^ I mean, how can I share a preset using the layering options of Bitwig or Reaper on PC with someone using Logic on MAC? Using a vsti shell/container is universal, it will load in any DAWs.
But you got your answer from EvilDragon.
Otherwise save 4 times (4 instances) the U-He preset and load them in the other DAW. A bit more complicated, yes. What you cannot do is saving the whole channel strip of one DAW and load it in another DAW.
You gotta use MUX or Bidule or similar.

An official one from u-he that load only u-he synths would have been cool. Would love to hear multi-layered patches from Howard.
