There is an option select a plugin when right clic on a rack plugin icon.
What is the purpose of this, to open the selected plugin ?
Because when i select a plugin, no plugin opens !

Where is the plugin Rack icon when you see this. Is it already inserted in the mixer for a track?dupont wrote:There is an option select a plugin when right clic on a rack plugin icon.

No, I'm seeing this too with this menu option. However, it is hit and miss and I can't see a pattern. Sometimes the plugin interface opens and sometimes it doesn't, something is awry.

Selecting a plugin from the rack menu will select it as though you clicked on the plugin item. This has two effects:
1. It will show the plugin properties in the properties panel at the bottom on the window
2. If you have the "single click to open plugin windows" option set it will show its interface
If you have windows shown on double clicks they won't show in this case.

No Dave, there is a problem. I have 'single click to open' set and although the menu option always seems to display the plugin properties, the GUI is not always displayed.

For info, the plugin window will show if it wasn't closed using the "X" button (i.e. it got closed by selecting something else).
I've changed this now so that it will always open when selected via this method (providing single click to show is chosen).

that was not obvious at first, isn't it ?dRowAudio wrote:Selecting a plugin from the rack menu will select it as though you clicked on the plugin item. This has two effects:

Why only open if single click to show is chosen, it will stay confusing ? I do not catch the idea ?dRowAudio wrote:For info, the plugin window will show if it wasn't closed using the "X" button (i.e. it got closed by selecting something else).

Well, "selecting" a plugin is not the same as "showing its window". This is mainly intended as a quick way of showing the plugin's properties in the panel so you can change preset, wet/dry levels etc.
It's more of a side effect that the plugin window gets shown if you have them set to open on single clicks because what this option means really is "show plugin windows on single clicks or when the plugin is selected".
However, if you have the "double click to show plugin windows" option chosen, it's probably because you don't want plugin windows opening all the time, only when you explicitly double click them.
What I've done is made the "select shows plugin window" behaviour more consistent but avoided introducing behaviour users were explicitly trying to avoid by choosing the double click option.
Hopefully that will please most people.
