this is a fabulous image for KSGalbanum wrote:...but if you insist, here you go:
This is a 1024*1024 Hadamard Matrix.... It is specifically constructed to be more "non patterned" or "non-repetitive" than a purely random noise signal... no single row or column is the same.
it's the "row to end all rows"...
might I suggest some variations on the size?
like zoomed in versions?

There is a feature request for Kaleidoscope future versions: adding an option to turn off the Image Map wrap when using Y-Offset. This can be an easy way to visually eliminate low-end or high end resonators.
Andrew, what do you think?

Yes, I thought the same thing myself recently...

Andrew:
I know some mention has been made of the value of adding some image editing capabilities in the future, but I wanted to also suggest the ideal target might be the kind of image manipulation possible in Metasynth's Image Synth (blurring, echoing, moving, etc) - what a great set of tools to add to KS!
I know you can import a KS image into MS, then back to KS, but to do all within KS would be great.

I assume that was just a little preview of architecture vol. 2Galbanum wrote:jackmazzotti wrote: this is a fabulous image for KS

I think U&I should just team up with you or something. I have asked them for years to make MS a plugin and they have no interest. MS style image editing and spectral analysis inside KS would be completely nuts especially if a wavetable synth that uses all your 10k plus waves was in it. You have opened Pandoras Box!Galbanum wrote:BTW, new build to try with improvements to Retina Display issues in a hour or so....

That Image? Yes, I suppose I will include that kind of thing...jackmazzotti wrote:I assume that was just a little preview of architecture vol. 2Galbanum wrote:jackmazzotti wrote: this is a fabulous image for KS

I have some ideas to handle this kind of thing...
But here are a few simple things I'd like to do to KS:
1) "Y-Resize" only contracts/gets-smaller at the moment. I'd like to allow it to expand as well.
2) "X-Resize" should do the same kind of thing as Y-Resize (yes, at the moment you could simply change the the scanning rate and achieve the same thing... however, there are some reasons why allowing this manipulation of the image would be interesting...)
(so using such things, it would NOT be necessary to make lots of ZOOM variations of the type of image shown above. You can just make the max detail version, and then use resize stuff to use only a small part of the image on disk... this kind of non-destructive edit stuff is the kind of stuff we like...)
3) There should be a "Repeat" on/off function for use with Resize such that when contracting/expanding the image is repeated to fill in the empty space (or not). For example you take a pattern contract it twice, now you have 4 vertical repetitions of it. A second image can be used to select which is playing. So you can get little "phase" kind of things and then effectually have them transposing with the second image...
4) Repeat should also handle wrap or do not wrap when using X-Y offset. Or maybe it should be separate for some reason? not sure yet...
etc.
little things like this will make it into a 1.1 version... as well as changes to the tuning system I already did this week. and some other stuff...

U&I does things their own way... and I love them for that... but let's just keep it at that.
