t 6 cpu woes

i'm running the newest version of t6 and when i load up a delay to a project with only 3 tracks (audio, no vst's or other fx on any, but one track.) the cpu meter goes to red and says 98% usage. when i open up the window it shows the plug in is using 100% of, i'm assuming all of my cpu resources.when i try that in reaper, ableton live 8, or mixcraft pro 7 the cpu uasge with the same tracks and the same plug in is less than 2%. i have 16 gigs of ram quad core processor, and am running windows 7 pro. thanks for any help.
