Working on a song that has a Hive synth bass, and later I have electric bass come in at the same time. By automating the Hive EQ, I backed off on the bass EQ on the hive synth so the electric bass comes through a little better. This is a nice Hive feature since my Cubase LE4 does not have automated EQ. Are automated EQ's in DAW's common nowadays?

There's also automatable EQs included with FL Studio and Reaper these days, among others.
Concerning CPU usage I've noticed it gobbles up more CPU in FL Studio 11.1 on my 2 core Windows 7 system than it does in Reaper in the same computer (32-bit hosts and plugin, 64-bit OS), and like I've mentioned before it got better with the last update so I imagine the good folks at u-he will get there eventually.

V-GER,
Thank you for replying. Last time I tried updating my Mac OSX from 10.6.8 to 10.9 (I think), and from CubaseLE4 to Cubase ~8, it was mostly a disaster. I went back to my ancient set up and working relatively well.

For those still on the fence.
U-he Hive $83.16 with code GROUP at JRR Shop

)
This is a great price for a fantastic synth, temporarily costing $99 at u-he's site but going to full price $149 soon. Also, u-he prices don't often get slashed, so this is quite interesting.

to be honest: i`m not very amused to see this. because i pay the full "introductary-price" in trust of the good work for the beta. been involved in testing this. trade presets. and then to see if i waited longer i get it round about 20 € cheaper short time before the final, makes me a little depressed. but thats life. and to be honest the second: me myself get good deals from jjr in the past and was lucky about that. so maybe its simply justice. so enjoy

Remember, many of us got $25 off by simply answering some survey questions.
Urs even allowed the coupon to be used until February, well past expiration date.
This means that a lot of people only payed $75 for this exquisite synth.
As for myself, bought Hive two weeks ago and enjoy it ever since.
I believe it to be a good thing that more people can jump in

I can't activate the 2nd oscillator... it doesn't make a sound even with the volume knob turned all the way up and oscillator 1's volume knob turned all the way down. It works on presets that utillize it but when I play with hive from an initialized patch it doesn't make any sound. has anyone else had this problem?
