If you don't already have the Q, you can get the Mastering Bundle for $419. The Q is usually one of the ones that everyone wants.

I bought the Q2 & Volcano before my EDU discount ran out, so I'm good there.

So to the original question: how often to the Pro-C, Pro-L, & Pro-MB pop up for sale, second hand? Often enough that I ought to wait, or infrequent enough that I ought to just save up and buy all three at once direct from FabFilter?

No idea. FabFilter goes on sale 2-3 times per year, usually at 25% off.

This makes me want to get Logic. How are Apple loops different than Acid files? Does Logic automatically time stretch?

I have Zero-G's Total REX but Maschine can't preview REX files, making them pretty cumbersome to deal with.

I have a couple of these... they are just normal AIFF files, as far as i can tell. at least, they can be used just like any other aiff files.

at some point, 'apple loops' changed to be something like ALAC (like FLAC, lossless-compressed but apple-specific). but these are older, so at least the ones I have (one of the dance packs, and the world pack) are still aiff and are fine on Live on Windows...

Some deals are better than others. This current Apple loops deal is actually quite good and it seems to me that you wouldn't need much else from them after getting it.

Thanks both -Uncle E these packs seem to be recompilations of older stuff? Benefits seem to be you don't get multiple formats you mightn't need and so 9gig is actually 9 gig! Numanoid - lol, keep on that chaingang, all good here :0

They are basically Apples version of Acidloops, AIFF files with timing info embedded so that they tempo match to the project.

Anyone know if the Reason Booster packs are packaged as .rfl (proprietary to reason) or as normal rex files that can be opened in almost any DAW?

I bought Booster Retro edition, I got 10 *.rfl files

No REX, I think if you plan to use these in another DAW, you need to rewire Reason into that and load up the refills that way.

Gotta say for just $29, this is a total NO BRAINER deal for those who got Reason

BTW, I didn't know Hollow Sun also had made Refills for Reason.
