Famous Blue Raincoat--Leonard Cohen, either original or as performed by Tori Amos
Till the End Of the World--Nick Cave. It's a not widely known one, from the soundtrack to the Wim Wenders' film (not a very good one BTW) of the same name.
Siamese Twins -- The Cure. Not now maybe but it was a real weeper back in me teens.
Walking Home Alone--Stan Ridgway. The title says it all, but there's much more to this song.
Holocaust--Big Star. You needn't even understand the words here.

This is gonna sound nuts, but seriously: for some unknown reason I get all kinds of teary-eyed with chills up my spine when I hear...Todd Rundgren's guitar solos during the big epic intro to the Meatloaf song "Bat Out of Hell". :D Does it to me every time I hear it...no idea why. :?

In the "makes a little more sense" department: :D
the last time I saw Peter Gabriel live he did a quiet, very gentle song on just piano and voice solo called "Father, Son" that I had never heard before. It's about him getting together with his 90+ year old father to practice yoga with a simple but touchingly emotional chorus:

With my dad by my side
With my dad by my side
Got my dad by my side
With me

Hearing the song hit be like a ton of lead, because my own father (who's in his mid-70's) at the time was recovering from some very serious spinal reconstruction surgery and I was worried sick about him...I immediately got teary-eyed and still do when I think about it.

"This Mortal Coil - I Come And Stand At Every Door"

I'm only seven although I've died
In Hiroshima long ago
I'm seven now as I was then
When children die they do not grow

"1979" by the "Smashing Pumpkins" Not THE most sentimental lyrics ever, but the sound created as a whole on that recording is shear tear jerking emotion.

Anything by Anouar Brahim. Hauntingly beautiful oud playing.
